DH, DD, and I will be moving to Florida in December :D And of course, I would like to plan a trip for the spring, perhaps in March or April. We plan on taking advantage of the Florida resident rates, and military discounts.

so for maybe 3-4 nights in a moderate hotel, with 4 day Park Hoppers, how much do you usually budget for that kind of trip? I'd just like to start putting away money for this trip, and wanted to get an idea of what I'm aiming for. Thanks!:)

I would suggest buying the Florida Residents Seasonal Passes (I think they're actually cheaper than 4-day Park Hoppers, not sure)--yes, they have black-out dates, but they are SO reasonably priced for what you get.

My In laws just got a 4 day park hopper for like $125.00 (they do expire but I think they are good for a year. They were able to book WL for $112.00 which I thought was a great deal!

If you're talking about the Play 4 park hoppers, they are not good for a year. They are only good til November of this year. Just going by the price you gave, that sounds like the Play 4 passes. They are running $119 before tax so after tax $125 sounds about right. :D

The Play 4 passes either come out once or twice a year. If they come out twice, they usually go from Jan-June and they maybe again for Aug-Nov. If they only come out once, then typically they are good from April-October of the currrent year.

Blessings,

Denise

ETA: Our next trip is costing us about $1600 for 7 days and 6 nights at Disney. That's hotel (the Allstars), 4 day hopper passes, food, and souvees(if needed). I budgeted $100 a day for DH and I to eat and I know we won't eat that much, because we rarely eat 3 meals a day at Disney.

Thanks for the tips so far :)

So far I have these prices, at the very least. Hypothetically say we go in April during regular season:

Coronado Springs water view for $159 (military discount 40% off rack rate, so $63/nt)

4 day park hopper w/ military discount(2 adults) $202
OR
Florida Res. Seasonal Pass for 2 adults at $211

So that's at least $593 for 4days/3nights, not including dining and souvenirs. Not bad at all!

What a huge difference when you don't have to FLY! Why didn't we move to Florida sooner??? :p

We buy the Florida Res Seasonal Pass every year. The blackout dates are Christmas week, Easter Week, and you can't go for about 2 months during the summer.. (but it's not bad because it's SOOO hot here in the summer anyway and it's always crowded).
