Hi Everyone,
As some of you may remember, me and my DF got engaged las September in Florida. We have booked our venue and photographer here in the UK but then over the weekend have had a massive change of heart and decided to cancel out UK plans and marry in Florida.
It all a bit scary at the moment but we will be taking abut 9 people with us, staying on Disney property and want a beach wedding.

Would appreciate an tips, suggestions, warning, anything that people could tell us.

Few fact:

Already have honeymoon booked for us on Disney property.
Thinking of going out with the other 9 2 days before the scheduled honeymoon

Thanks :)

We're getting married in Florida in a few weeks!

We're not doing a Disney wedding, far too expensive for us.

We've booked through www.romanticflbeachweddings.com who have good priced packages, or make your own ones. You can add or take things away if you change your mind too.

Ours is on Cocoa beach and includes a registrar, photographer, music, flowers as an aisle, palm trees as an altar, bouquet for me, flower basket for my daughter, ring pillow, a lovely sand ceremony and a sea shell wishing too :D

My wedding planner will be ringing me shortly for a phone rehearsal and to run through what will happen on the day. I'm thinking of adding on a videographer too since it'll only me me, OH and our 3 children, so no one on hand to film anything.

It's perfect for us, we aren't traditional in general and like things our own way. We want our wedding for us, not our guests, and this is perfect :D

And as an added bonus we have MNSSHP tickets for the evening too! So we'll be going first in our wedding outfits to get some lovely pictures in front of the castle and hopefully with some characters too, all free with out photopass+, and then we'll change into our Halloween costumes as a pirate family! :D

Thank you for your suggestions.

Do we have to have been in Florida for a certain number of days before? One place I read 3 but somewhere else I read none!

No, you don't.

We got our license all sorted here in the UK, jsut had to take it to the wedding with us to be signed, and then our officiant sent it to the courthouse place.

Congrats on getting married. We had a Disney Wedding and it was the best decision ever. :)

Sorry I may be asking dumb questions now but I've already booked registra fir the wedding we have booked in UK and have to give notice between this month and nov. obviously I need to cancel registra but do I still need to give notice? How do you get your license? Do I need to send anything to Florida before?

You just need to get a license, its really easy, you go to the courthouse and fill in a short form, all you need is your passport and the money and that's it. Takes 10 mins if there is no queue.

I half answered that before I saw it.

No you don't need to give notice here or do anything here.

You can do the license here in advance but I know a few UK brides had issues doing that or as I said above just go to the court house which is what I did.

No notice needed in Florida, just your passport and $93. Walk into a courthouse, ask them for a licence, show your passports, pay the fee, walk out with the wedding licence, very quick and simple :D

You can get the licence while you're here but it usually costs $200+?
