Florida Strawberry Festival

I see that the strawberry festival is taking place from 2 to 12 March in Plant City (off the I4 on the way to Tampa). It looks as though it might be well worth a visit. Click on www.flstrawberryfestival.com for info.

I love strawberries and feel that I could be well up for the strawberry shortcake eating contest.

Has anyone been in previous years? Would you recommend it?

Why spoil perfectly good strawberries with the addition of shortcake? I'll just take the stawberries please

looks like a typical county fair, with lots of Americana....
basically a small scale state fair....very American....very very....

if you want to get an idea of what a state fair is, rent the movie by the same name...

i always loved our state fair (even though for some unfathomable reason it was in a dangerous area - because that's where the fairgrounds were - go figure)......

in any case, this festival looks like it might be fun and would certainly give you an interesting look at one part of america.....

I have been and if you love strawberry shortcake you can't miss it. When I went you were able to make your own shortcake with all the ingredients. Plus, there are alot of rides to go on. It's an annual thing here in FL..
