Ya i took them in NJ they call them the HSPA's and you take them as a junior

My daughter is a Freshman and is in the middle of them. Not really a good measurement of a student's abilities. Good luck, it will be over soon.

I hate testing,
Max is a junior but they are making him do a "retake" because we were not in FLA last year. He is not happy

My kids are not old enough for the FCAT but good luck to all those that have to take em!

AND good luck to all the teachers that have to administer them..... it is crazy that some of the pay depends on how well a student performs in ONE test!

I know a senior who had to "retake" as well bc they just moved here.
If the person failes no deploma

At least its over and we dont have to take what ever that other one is called

Standardized tests, especially those like the ACT and SAT that effect your ability to get into college, are a complete load of crap. They are inaccurate, a complete waste of time, and do not show a student's capability or work ethic.

I took AP chem, AP Bio, and Adv Chem honors and got a 19 on the science portion of the ACT.

On the contrary, I got a 28 in reading and I hate to read(except the DIS of course!)

Just one of many examples. Unfortunately these tests are being relied on even heavier than a GPA or class choice when it comes to colleges accepting students out of high school.
