PRO: Using the snow birds tax dollars when they aren't even there to reep its benefit. My parents pay $25k a year to the Palm Beach Assessor for an apartment they use for 3 months out of the year. No they are not complaining, they can afford it. What bothers them is comments like I quoted. Snowbirds may be a pain sometimes - but you gotta take the good with the bad.....

But your parents are also taking up an entire appartment for 12 months of the year but only adding additional spending dollars into the local economy (through puchasing gas for their cars, food from grocery stores and restaurants, etc.) for 1/4 of the year.

So snowbirds can think of it as a pentalty for using us natives and our state like cheap hookers and ignoring us when they are done with us until they next time they come to town...
