Florida residents have enjoyed a discounted rate on AP and seasonal APs. I wonder if Florida residents who own DVC will be able to use the $100 discount for the Florida annual passes?

How would you all feel if Fl. residents who owned DVC got a bigger discount?

Agree with spiceycat.

I don't see much point in getting excited or upset until the facts are all in anyway. All we have for specifcs right now is speculation.

Best wishes -

Here in Tampa, we have never considered going to the parks at least 4 times a year, to make the AP worthwhile. Too many other places to visit!

I would love it since we are now Florida residents.

But.....I doubt it's going to happen. I'm sure Disney will say we have to use one discount or the other.

Your post makes me kind of home sick for East Lansing.:(

I just spoke to a DVC CM in management who read me the article from the upcoming Vacation Magic regarding our new benfit. First, it says some thing like "up to" $155 off an AP & "up to" $125 off a PAP. The "up to" refers to whether the pass is for an adult or a child; whether it is for a FL resident or non-FL resident; & whether it is a first time pass or a renewal.

The CM checked their official CM site & found that I (adult, non-FL, first AP) would pay the same price as my friend (adult, FL, first time AP). I would get the $100 off & my friend would get $20 off which brings it to the SAME amount for both of us - ABOUT $300. Please do not quote my dollar amount since I said ABOUT :)!

I'd feel like more power to you!

It does raise an interesting question though....do you think there are Florida residents with AP's than DVC members? I would think so, but then I'm a little biased! :)

>>>Walt Disney World® Resort Ticket Product
Discount Off Retail Price

Ages 10 + Ages 3 - 9

Annual Pass $100.00 $85.00
Florida Resident AP $20.00 $17.00
Annual Pass Renewal $75.00 $64.00
Premium Annual Pass $125.00 $106.00
Florida Resident Premium Annual Pass $25.00 $21.00
Premium Annual Pass Renewal $95.00 $80.00<<<<

If I have the prices right:

Annual Pass = $403 - $100 = $303
Fl Resident AP = $318 - $20 = $298
AP renewal = $361 - $75 = $286
Premium AP = $531 - $125 = $406
FL Resident PAP = $425 - $25 = $400
PAP Renewal = $478 - $95 = $383

It may be a little less if they apply the discount before tax. Very little additional discount for FL Residents compared to DVC rate.

I assume you mean getting both discounts on one pass. Without an official answer I would be you 4 AP you don't get both discounts. That'd make an AP $200, more what is should be for DVC members and FL residents but Disney will never let it happen.

It's been my experience so far that we get either one discount or the other not both -- example: room discount codes - I've been able to use AP codes or FL resident codes -NOT BOTH:( I highly doubt they'd go giving us FL resident discount on our AP's and then be able to use the new DVC discount on top of that.

I would never turn it down if I could use both mind you but somehow I don't think they'll let us do that:confused3

From what iI understand, Florida DVC'ers will recieve A $20 discount on the FR AP, making it about the same price as with the DVC discount on an AP. So, DVC members outside of Florida are in effect getting Florida resident prices on the AP's.
edited to add, just a discount on the regular AP, not the Seasonal AP

I'm sorry, I feel like I'm late to the party. Is DVC now giving discounts to owners? :bounce:

Thanks for the information, I wondered what they would do. I think it is a smart move for them to make them about the same price, with the Florida rate a buck or two less. Otherwise, in a few years there would be people saying that all dvc owners should get the same rate as florida dvc owners, since they own a time share in florida. So it keeps everybody about equal so no complaints in the future. Good move, dvc.

I wondered, because the Florida rate is a *rate* (e.g., $298) and the DVC discount is a *discount* (e.g., -$100).

I'm really glad that they offered this AP rate to dvc owners.

Yes, Floridafam, it continues to be dreary and grey in East Lansing, but amazingly no snow yet. Many think that means it will be really bad when it does come, who knows.
