Has anyone bought a florida resident tickets and linked it to their magic band? Do you still need to bring your driver's license to show proof of residency if the ticket is already linked to the band? Just trying to determine if I need to bring that along with me! TIA!

Well, um, do you live in Richmond, Virginia or Florida? All I know is that they vet Florida resident tickets very carefully. You have to prove you live in Florida.

As of March you still needed to show proof of residency even if your ticket was linked to your account and you had a magic band.

My friends used the FL resident discovery tickets recently. They were purchased online and had them shipped to their house. They ended up calling IT to help link the tickets to their account because they never received a confirmation number (nor did the tickets ever arrive). This allowed them to pre-book fastpass+. When they got to guest relations at the park to verify their FL residency and pick up their tickets, the cast member was not happy that the tickets had already been linked. She said IT shouldn't have linked them until they proved they lived in FL and that couldn't be done over the phone. I watched the whole thing and it didn't look like it caused any trouble on her end to exchange the tickets but maybe she was just good at hiding it. They never received a hard ticket - they just used their magic bands.

Thanks, but I live in Florida. I don't use these boards often, so didn't see the need to update my info.

Thanks for the information!

Last month I purchased Florida resident tickets (will call, not paper). They were quickly linked to my on-site resort reservation, and I was able to make FP+ reservations at the 60 day mark and order our Magic bands with no issues.

I did contact Guest Services with the same question as yours. To me it looked like everything was already up and running with our Magic Bands, and I wondered if it was a glitch as i knew Florida residency did need to be verified. I was assured that although the tickets are linked, they are not activated until you show driver's license at Guest Services. They sadly informed me that currently resorts are not equipped to deal with Florida resident tickets, which blows because it would have allowed us to avoid the giant line at the park. Oh well...

In March, we bought our tickets online, linked them and made FP with no problem. The magic bands we received in the mail worked perfectly at the hotel BUT when we used them to try and enter the park, it was blocked and we had to go to guest services to show proof of residency. So, yes, carry your license at least the first time you try to enter the park with them.
