Florida resident tickets and rules for children located?

Hello,

I read in the forum that childrens under 18 don't have to provide proof of florida residency. Does anyone know where the rules are stated about the children under 18?

I want to make sure before I purchase the ticket. I don't want to have purchased ticket for my 8,12,17 year old and get their and they tell me I need proof or have to pay the whole price.

These are the official rules:

Florida Resident tickets are only available to actual Florida Residents and cannot be purchased for out-of-state family or friends.

An adult Florida Resident may purchase Florida Resident media for more than one Florida Resident from any location that provides an exchange certificate and not an actual ticket.

Children under the age of 18 are not required to provide proof of Florida residency if they are accompanied by an adult with valid proof of Florida residency

If the Guest has an exchange certificate, a valid form of Florida ID will be required when the exchange certificate is redeemed for the actual pass

One ticket only per valid proof of Florida residence (a Florida resident may buy tickets for minors in the party)

Exchange Certificates may say:

"After sale..., may not be transferred except as a gift." This means that the certificate may be given as a gift, so long as the recipient meets the defined Florida residency criteria.

"Purchase and redemption of this exchange certificate requires proof of Florida Residency."

The following items are the only documents accepted as proof of Florida Residency:
* Valid Florida State Drivers License
* Valid Florida State issued ID Card with Florida Address
* Valid Florida Voter’s Registration Card with the Guest's name and address with corresponding photo ID
* Valid Florida University / College Student ID
* Valid Military ID stationed at one of the Florida Military Bases listed below:

Minors to not have to show any identification for tickets purchased for them.

The only case in which a child would need identification would be for the birthday promotion, and a birth certificate or state or government issued ID would need to be shown.

Any adult ticket purchasers will need to show ID when picking up a ticket. It is also wise to take along a picture ID even when you are not picking up a ticket, but just using it in case anything ever goes wrong. A couple of weeks ago my ticket stopped working and I had to get a new one, and they would not have issued me a new one if I had not have had my ID. Or if you lose it you will need to have a new one issued, and the other one deactivated. It's always smart to have your ID on hand.

Any and each adult wishing to get a FL resident ticket will need to show proof of FL residency when picking the ticket up.

I don't think I completely understand. Are you saying that someone who is a FL resident is purchasing tickets for minors but the adult FL resident will not be purchasing a ticket themselves? You would still need to provide your proof of FL residency, even though they might question why you are not accompanying minors into the park that you are purchasing tickets for.

Please correct me if I misunderstood.

I'm not affected since I'm a FL Res, but I imagine this is the part that will cause the biggest problem for non-residents trying to get around the residency requirements.

When you take the exchange vouchers to the window to get the actual tickets, you have to have an adult FL ID to exchange the kids vouchers. If not, you will have to pay the difference right there, not fun if you haven't budgeted for it.

Yea, like Seahunt said, the person with the FL residency will need to accompany them. To be honest, we've purchased a minor ticket before and we informed the cast member that the child was from out of state but that we would be accompanying her and they said it didn't matter if she was out of state and gave us the FL residency pricing anyway. Of course, when we brought her we were with her, so that was not a problem.

That's the way it keeps it from being abused. Lots of people might have family in FL that could get their children cheaper pricing, but most of them would not actually go with them to the parks.

I don't think that's what the OP was referring to though, I believe they are all FL residents, but didn't want to get there and find out the children needed ID's as well, since most minor's don't always have ID's. She/He, I believe, was just be cautious.

Please read post #2 above carefully. Those are Diney's Official Rules and policies concerning Florida Resident tickets.

To sum it up in two sentences:

1. A person buying Florida Resident Tickets must have proof of Florida Residency.

2. To actually activate the tickets anyone 18 or older must have proof of Florida Residency; if less than Age 18 they must be accompanied by someone with proof of Florida Residency.

And if someone came to my ticket window to purchase a Florida Resident ticket and was under 18 any without an adult who has Florida Resident identification accompanying them I would not sell/activate the ticket and I would be following Disney's Official Policy.

An unaccompanied minor without FLorida ID is no different from an adult without Florida ID from the point of view of the ticket seller.

Obviously not Cheshire Figment but he is a ticket CM. I believe what he is saying is if you are a Florida resident you will have to show your id when buying and activating the tickets. If the children are with you and you have a Florida resident ID then you are set to go.

As far as public information, this page, which has the Florida Resident prices shows the following on the right hand side:

•When you order online, you save time at the ticket store.
•Will Call tickets will be available for you to pick up at the Will Call windows at the entrance of the Theme Parks.
•All you need to do is present your printed order confirmation along with your proof of Florida residency.

Proof of Florida Residency
Proof of Florida residency is required—you must provide any of the following:

•Florida driver′s license
•Florida state-issued ID card (must have Florida address)
•Florida voter′s registration card with corresponding picture ID
•A college ID for a Florida college
•Florida-based military ID
