Hey everyone! Okay....so I just booked our Cruise on the Disney Fantasy for 7-nights Eastern Caribbean next September 2017. I just for fun looked at the Florida Resident deals and in late September this year, I could have the same cruise with a verandah instead of a Deluxe Family Oceanview and have saved $1,200.00. Does anyone know if these prices pop up next year, if the TA can get the lower rate and upgrade?

The big question is IF. But yes, IF an FLR is offered for your cruise next year, and IF it is a category you have booked or are willing to switch to, then yes your TA can contact DCL to have the FLR rate applied. At least as of the current rules. Right now, I believe FLR is the only offer that can be directly applied to a current booking without incurring penalty; all other special offers (*GT, MTO, etc.) have required cancellation and re-booking, with any penalty that may apply since these offers typically come out after the PIF date. But in some instances I've heard the deal is so good it's worth taking the penalty. So just keep watching next summer for September offers.

Enjoy your cruise!

It was for us on our B2B Fantasy cruises. We cancelled after the PIF date, but the savings on the *GT still saved us over $1000 between the two cruises. And we went from an oceanview on our original reservation to a 7A GTY booking. Actually got a 4A room!

So....just so I make sure I am understanding correctly, you are saying that IF the rate should happen to appear (similarly to a big cloud of Pixie Dust from Heaven) that the TA should be able to make the changes without having to cancel and rebook?

Under the current rules, yes. Can't say whether DCL will change the rules or not, but it's been pretty standard for a number of years now.

I am in a similar situation. I have a 7 day Fantasy booked for January 2017 and my pay in full date is mid October. We are still iffy on the cruise due to the price. My friend was telling me that even if I have paid in full that Disney cruise would refund the difference if a Fl Res deal comes out. Sounds like you all are saying yes???

As of the current rules, yes DCL will allow a guest to apply an FLR offer to a current booking without penalty.

No guarantee those rules won't change. Until a year or so ago, military offers had similar rules but they now are subject to penalty.

No guarantee FLR will be offered for any given cruise. If you aren't comfortable with the price before the PIF, you'll need to decide if you are willing to risk hoping for an FLR offer for your cruise. I guess if I thought the price was too high, I wouldn't stick with a booking on the hope it might be adjusted after-the-fact. I would probably cancel and wait to see what may be offered in the way of either FLR or *GT that could be a more comfortable price range for me.

Enjoy your cruise!
