using the new free dining plan or not?

I have the DDE card and I am a FL resident. we are going in 3 weeks and getting the play 3 days pass. for my family of 2 adults and 3 kids that costs $526 plus tax (the play 3 day pass). plus I paid $75 for the DDE card. FL resident room rates are $79 a night for the POP

I was planning on turning those passes into seasonal passes at a cost of $433 and going one more time this year (or possibly a 3rd for a weekend with just my dh)

now that the free MYW dining program is out would it make more sense to NOT buy SPs? rack rate for the rooms is $79, play 3 day passes $526, free food... or AP rate for the room is $59, $433 for SPs, and 20% off of food... :confused3 help! does it save more money if we go longer? I guess if we go a THIRD time we'd see savings LOL

I'm having trouble with the math - anybody out there a whiz at this stuff?? :teacher:

ummm plus I have to convince my dh to go again ;)

I'm not sure you can get the FL resident plays 3 passes (or do you mean the normal 3 day hopper passes?) with the package that includes free dining.

on mousesavers it was posted that you coul http://www.mousesavers.com/packages.html#flfreedining

hmmmm

Glad to hear it. Everything I had read up to this point had said the free dining had to be with the full price rack rate MYW package. I'm glad the FL residents aren't being left out.

I think you can still do what you were planning. I believe you can upgrade you MYW passes to SP even if they are included with your package. I would call Guest Services and confirm, but I had heard that this was an option. Other DIS members had indicated they would add days, features or upgrade to AP when they check in or at the gate. HTH
