Florida Resident Discount: Credit after PIF Date?

I can't find any recent posts about this.

Booked two staterooms onboard with 10% discount and shipboard credits (one verandah, one inside across the hall).

We are past the PIF date and about 55 days to sail date.

If this cruise becomes available at the FLR rate (which have been very significant), would anyone know the following?

1. Will I be able to receive a credit fir the difference in price?
2. If so, can I have it directly applied to another cruise I'll be booking onboard?
3. I booked and paid the full cost of both staterooms. The second stateroom does not have a Florida resident listed (although I could "move" my daughter to that room if need be and if they'll let me). Will I get the discount on both staterooms?
4. Most importantly, will our original staterooms remain the same?

I have gotten some refunds before. They do not place it as OBC. It goes back to the CC. I got one for the canal back in 2010 a few weeks after final payment my refund was close to $1200.

Thank you. I was able to find some posts from 2013. I was just wondering if anyone had any recent experience.

If you don't mind me asking, when you received the credit in 2010, did your stateroom remain unchanged?

We just did this. We sail in the next few weeks. We were past the PIF date. We booked our cruise last year and the Fl. Resident special came our about a month ago. I was asked if I wanted to credit it towards our ship board account or put it back on the credit card. We chose to put it back on the cc.

The difference in price for 2 cabins was $1222.00 but we had to give up our $200 per cabin credit for booking while on board last year. We still saved over $800 so all was good.

We also had to change cabins because the categories for the Fl Res discount were different from the ones we booked. We had one veranda cabin and one inside cabin across the hall on deck 6. The only bummer is the cabins are now not near each other. One on deck 9 one on deck 2.

They said you cannot get 2 discounts at one time (on board booking and Fl. Res) so my suggestion is to book the Fl res rooms as soon as possible because the # of cabins for the discount are limited. I would watch on a daily basis to see if the discount becomes available for your cruise.

When we did the canal I had a catg 9 outside I then gave up my OBC but went with a gty cat 5 and ended up with a 4. Great cabin. It was so worth it. Would love to do that again.

I need to have the rooms across or next to each other as we're going to put all the teens in one room, so need to keep a watchful eye.

I'll keep my fingers crossed. I'd love to just take it as a shipboard credit and use it toward booking my cruise to Norway.

There seems to be plenty of availability, so hopefully it will work out.

I wasn't checking the Fl dis. so it has been out for awhile before I saw it. I think if I has seen it earlier I would have been able to get the cabins closer. We are hoping to be able to move the cabins when we board.

We actually found a fl res rate that was available for our cruise we had already booked last year and requested that the credit be applied to our onboard account and although she did have to get approval to do it, she was able to do this. When we arrived on the ship the credit was on our account, so you are able to do it and then if you booked onboard, the required deposit is posted to your on board account in which the credit that you wld have received wld take care of that!
