florida residents, can i get the AP discount with the seasonal pass? trying to work out budget and tickets and such. i am buying seasonal passes for everyone in my party. i was just wondering if i can get the AP discount with them or if i should buy me an AP for the discount. thanks for the help!

Are you talking about an AP discount on your resort stay?
It is my undertaning (mostly from mousesavers) that FL res. discounts are typically the same as the AP discount. We used the FL Res code to book our room & got it at the same rate as the AP. You don't even need a season pass, just need proof of residency. You also get the 10% discount at World of Disney, some restaurants and tours with the FL Season Pass.

I'm not an expert, like many people on these boards, from what I know, you don't have to spring for the AP.

Hope this helps!

Sounds to me like ya know, what ya know...:p and your an expert about Florida Residents Specials..

What you posted is correct...If Worm761 is going during the times that the Seasonal Pass is good, she wouldn't need an AP. We have Florida Residents Specials, and Seasonal Pass Holder Specials on rooms, both are as good as AP rates and sometimes better ::yes::

While I have the Seasonal Pass, because I make so many trips there are times when I'll buy the Florida Play 4 ticket for other members in my family. They don't make the trip as often (or stay as long). Both are offered to Florida Residents and are great savings..

thank you for the replies! i just moved to florida a few months ago so i am new to the florida discounts but loving every minute of it!!! :teeth:

Worm, You get everything with the Seasonal Pass that you would get with an Ap (including Ap room discounts), except you don't get free parking. If you're staying at a WDW resort, then you'll get the free parking anyway.

I'm pretty sure that there have been dates that were open to AP discounts, but not to FL Resident discounts. With an SP, then you're sure to qualify for either one.

Here's a historical rate chart from Mousesavers. It looks like the first part of 2003 did not have FL Resident discounts, but did have AP discounts:
