Florida Residence annual pass......for a Canadian.

Hi Everyone,

Wondering if anyone on here has any experience with getting a Florida Residence Annual pass for a vacation property? My parents have a place in Florida and I have an account in the US that I get the mail sent to their address. If you look on the disney website, it says you need photo I.D. and it lists several documents that they will accept as a "Florida Resident". One of them is mail from a financial institute and it says it can be investment, checking or savings account statement. So going with this, I think we should be able to get annual passes with the Florida discount, but I am wondering if anyone has any first hand knowledge of this and if anyone on here has every tried to get it and had success or maybe got turned down from it.

It seems we should be fine, but I would hate to spend $750 on annual passes for the family and end up only getting 3 day passes because they won't accept our proof of residency.

I find it hard to believe that guests could routinely purchase a Florida resident ticket simply by showing one piece of mail.

Bur I can imagine your being interviewed (being asked a variety of questions) and, if the CM is still not convinced that you are a Florida resident, he might ask for some documents such as that piece of mail.

The U.S. has a variety of resident alien programs whereby you could be considered a temporary Florida resident and not have to apply for U.S. citizenship.

A close friend of mine and a co-worker have successfully obtained Florida passes with their name co-listed on a utility bill and showing their Canadian ID. One of them did initially have a problem with a CM who wasn't comfortable with the situation. They had better luck with the CMs at the Transportation and Ticket Centre booths near the Magic Kingdom. The problem was that evidence had to be provided for their other family members as well so they were only able to get passes for themselves, not their family members.

I Worked for CCL for 5 years and had a florida annual pass each year I was employed in florida, I never had an issue using my Canadian Drivers License with Banking Documentation from Florida!

This. You might be able to pull it off for yourself, but how do you plan on getting "proof" of residency for your kids?

I have heard from Florida Residents that you don't have to show proof for kids, as long as the parents have proof then they assume the kids will be the same way. It has not been confirmed but I have heard from a few people thats how it works. Kids don't have any ID that can be used as proof, and rarely do they get mail addressed to their name, so I think Disney knows how difficult it would be to prove kids have the same address and just give you the benefit of the doubt.
