I was watching an old video on youtube and saw the original plan for the Magic Kingdom area. There wasn't going to even be a 7 seas lagoon in front of Magic Kingdom originally. And there were plans for 8 resorts to be located right next to the park. A South Seas themed resort, Cape Cod Bay and 6 others.

Transportation wise people would use the Monorail and Wed Way people movers to get from the resorts to the parks.

I'm guessing South Seas and Cape Cod Baby would be reminiscent of what they eventually made with the Polynesian and Yacht Club.

The ice rink and roller dome is the only things that don't make sense to me. They must have been much more popular in the early 70's.
