The schedules different by county or school district its not the same all over the state like it is some places. So you can't plain to just avoid 1 week to get away from the locals comming in.
For instance.
Where I live in Monroe (Key West) it's March 27th through April 3rd
Where my sister teaches school in Pasco (New Port Richey just North of Tampa) it's April 10th -14th
Where her kids go to school in Hillsborough (Tampa) it's March 20th - 24th.

And there is still plenty of counties with less than an hours drive that may come in or just day trip it. And all are likely to have Different Schedules(Marion, Sumter, Lake, Seminole, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Hardee, Highlands, etc.. to name a few.)

Have fun no matter when you come !

We asked a bus driver about the crowds between January and May and there are many functions that come and go - Cheerleading, spring break (high school or college), grad nights, etc. We just came back from 9/3-8 and crowds were light.

MKOATEYW - what school does your sister teach at? I went to school at Gulf High School in New Port Richey, FL (long time ago) - but still keep touch with friends who are now teachers there. Small world.

She teaches school at Trinity Elementry. It's a new school.

In Gainesville it's April 3 - April 7. :)
