How many people here are in Florida, and how often do you go to the world? I live in Titusville and we go on a structured vacation twice during the year. Once during our spring break, and the other time the last week of June to July 5th. Of course we go often on the spur of the moment. :-0)

Lucky lucky lucky lucky lucky (etc, carries on for 4 pages) people! :teeth:

We live in Ft. Lauderdale and come at least twice a year. Since we got our annual passes, we have gone quarterly this year :cool1: A very wonderful, magical thing happened last time we were there. In Aug.05 we went and purchased Fla. three day passes, used the three days, went home. We went again in Jan., were ordering another set of three day passes and the CM at the register told me that if I want to upgrade to Annual passes, I have six months to do so. Then, a little light bulb lit in my head!!! I asked her that if I wanted to upgrade, do I need the actual tickets to do it? She said no, she could look it up on the computer!! WOO HOO!!! I told her we had purchased three day passes the previous August, she looked it up, and there it was!! So not only did we get Annual (seasonal) Passes, we paid almost $100.00 LESS to have them than we would have paid for another set of three day passes!!!! I was FLOATING on air for the rest of that trip!!!! We are going again on May 12-14 before blackout dates start in June, and we are going again in late Aug. before they expire (the only bad thing is that they exprire on the date of the original three day pass date). I am SO happy!!!!!

I have often wondered about this myself for Florida residents.

DW, DS, and I live in the Sarasota area. In the past year we have been about 10 times, most of those for 1 or 2 nights (and all business related). Two trips were for 4 nights (family vacation).

It is just convenient for us. Last weekend traffic was great and it only took us 1 hour and 45 minutes from our door to POR.

we used to live in FL (Jacksonville, about a 2-2 1/2 hour drive) and we went on planned trips twice a year, long weekends probably 4 or 5 times a year and occasionally just for the day. We even once drove down to have dinner (left at about 3) and watch the fireworks and then drove back! We just really needed that disney fix...

We used to live 10 minutes away at Champions Gate. We were able to go several times a month.

Now, we live in Auburndale, about 30 minutes away. We go slightly less often, but we can still make any day work.

Yes, I can remember may times we would be on the beach, then just decide to hop on over to EPCOT to eat dinner. When we first moved down here we were so excited to do that. Though I can say this, the excitment of planning that vacation was so intense when we were up north, I do sort of miss that. Weighing in, however, is the fact that we can go whenever we want. That is almost as exciting, and of course we can go more.

I live about 10 minutes from the resort. I'm there at least once a week, sometimes more often. It will slow down in the summer since I won't feel like putting up with crowds and heat, but I still need to get my Disney fix once in a while, so water parks are good for that time of the year.

If I've had a bad day at the office, I'll go home, change, and head over to a park. That always puts me in a better mood as soon as I pass the turnstiles.

You got that right David! When things stink in real life, WDW is a great medicine.

We avoid the busy times but we do hit the water parks in the summer. Sometimes it is the only cool water around!

Used to go once or twice a month, except summer, which I avoid when not doing research for something. With gas prices as high as they are, we take fewer, longer trips once every six weeks or so to make it more affordable.

we live in Sarasota and go May and Oct for five nights and then various weekends throughout the year....

Miami here & we try to go as many times as possible  I'll say 3 out of 4 times.

Just curious... I don't live anywhere near Florida, but have friends that do and haven't ever taken their kids to DW (can you believe it?). I told him that I thought FL residents get discounts on tickets, but he didn't believe me.

Other than annual passes, are there any other discounts? Does he need anything other than his FL driver's license? Where does he get the tickets?

Thanks for your help!

We are right next door to you in Port St John! We go on an overnight trip twice a year (usually for 3 nights) and then we do day trips all the time. We use the seasonal pass, but I'd guess we go maybe an average of twice a month. It seems like since we moved close to Disney, our friends and relatives from out of the area visit MUCH more often...hmmm :confused3

I go every few months although this year I have been every month except April and I will be back in May.. When I say that I go I never stay for less than 3 days.... that doesn't include many spur of the moment day trips. It takes about 2 1/2 to 3 hours to get there and check in from here. Gotta love those Fla resident seasonal AP's!!!! :thumbsup2

for FL resident discounts. For special events and room discounts, they are not as good as AP discounts for the most part, but then Florida residents get steep discounts on annual passes ($325 plus tax for adults), and are the only ones who can get Seasonal Passes ($215 plus tax for adults). A 3-day Play pass is something like $120 plus tax and gives you six months to use those three days over.

We just moved down and are about 20 mins away. So far we've gone every weekend :cool1: Gotta get our moneys worth out of our AP's

I went around 80 times last year. I love just being able to pop over to see a show, have dinner, just walk around the park.

We live about seven hours away...but we talk all the time about moving closer after I finish school. We went for six nights in Dec., going for 5 nights next month, and have a four night trip booked for the free dining in sept/oct. We're trying to get as much use out of our SP as possible. I'd really like to squeeze in a long weekend for me and hubby but we'll see. We've always averaged about 2 trips a year. We like to do other stuff like camping, boating, and believe it or not....other amusment parks (please don't tell Mickey). We went to US and IOA Dec before last and my husband actually prefers WDW....or mabey he just tells me that b/c he thinks its what I want to hear. :rotfl2:

Unfortunately, I have two years of nursing school starting this fall to get my BSN....I'm afraid these trips will have to last us a while...don't think mommy will have much playtime for awhile. :worried:  :sad2:
