Floral Question

I recieved my budget from Disney Floral yesterday and was blown away by the price. Has anyone used an outside florist and if so was it less than 1700? Thanks Toni

Have you contacted your Disney florist about alternate options? Ours was Cindy, she really worked with us to give us exactly what we wanted at a reasonable price. I gave her a figure of what I would pay for bridesmaid's bouquets ($75/each) and she worked around that and gave us options on the size and type of flowers that were in that range. She suggested alternate flowers for the bouquets, and made sure all of the flowers were in-season so that there was no special ordering. We also used a lot of flower petals as opposed to full floral arrangements. They used our alter arrangement at the reception for the sweetheart table and placed the bridesmaid's bouquets as decoration around the cake table. There are many options and I went with the "we can't take it with us" mindset. Since most of our guests are not from Florida, we couldn't just send home centerpieces with family members - sp extra floral would have gone in the garbage. We did floating candles/flower petals instead and saved a lot of money.
Remember that all of the Disney locations are very magical without extra floral and decoration - so don't feel pressured to spend more than you can afford -- your day will still be perfect.

Well I used Charming Events but I've since heard that they now charge a minimum of $1500 for Disney Weddings.

I went with CE because I had read great things about them and had heard that they were cheaper than Disney. So I contacted the owner, Emily, first and we really got on well from the first intial email so I never really shopped anywhere else. Also she only does one wedding a day which was a big pull for me.

I do think that if you have to use Disney to hit your minimums then use them, just ask them to see what they can do to lower your quote and still make the floral an integral part of your day. All the flowers I've seen Disney do are wonderful both on low and high budgets - sometimes it just depends on what flowers you are using and whether or not they are in season.

Also using flower arrangements to double up as centrepieces also saves money.
