We are leaving in 25 days:banana: for WDW but I am unsure about whether or not we can use some sort of floating device for our 1 yr old son in the SSR pool. I feel like he is too little for a life jacket, but I wanted to bring an infant/toddler tube that he can sit in and we can pull him around in. Anyone know if we can do this? For some reason I feel like we can't, but I figure I better ask because if we can, that would be awesome! Our little man will probably spend more time playing in the Donald Duck splash area, but I figure I should ask anyway.

i think that the DVC resorts have these?

Disney at one time only allowed their floats/tubes/life savers to be used. but think they changed that a couple of years ago.

Since you will be with your child all the time he is in the float, I don't think the lifeguards will have a problem with it. Unless the pool gets very crowded. I think I have seen others with those for their infants at other Disney pools. But not at the water parks. Not allowed there if I remember correctly.

We were at OKW in Sept and had our 11 month old in a tube from home. No one said anything to us. So I think you'll be fine! :thumbsup2

You'll be fine. I have been to SSR plenty of times and we always see some little Prince or princess in a floatie!
Like a prev. poster stated you will be with them in the pool so there iwll not be a problem.
Many of the pools, like SSR have those "complimentary" noodles that they keep by the pool. My hubby is always quick to snag one.

And no they are not someone elses that left them I have seen the life guards bring them out! :rotfl:

We used life jackets for our little one this past trip. They were 13 months old at the time. In fact we put them in infant life jackets at the age of 5 months old. They have that size there for you to use if you are interested. They are the type with a "pillow" for the head float and 3 straps. Two around their middle and one that goes up between their legs to keep the jacket from riding up. They are exactly what I use for the kids on our boat. It beat having to try and find room in our luggage for the jackets.

I used a small float that we brought from home for both of my kids. We used it at the BW and BC. No one ever gave us a problem with using it.

I agree with what others have posted. I didn't see anything against it in the posted rules and we used one with DS several times. They're great for when you're not going to leave your child's side, but don't want your arms to get tired from carrying them up in the water the whole time!

We brought a small round tube for our DD to SSR in September. We also brought her swimmies. The lifeguards had no problem with it and one was actually joking with my daughter telling her she wanted to use it. :)

On the day we checked out I asked another family with a little girl younger the ours if they wanted them, and they gladly accepted. I hope they did the same when they left.:goodvibes

You won't have a problem bringing your own.

Fabulous! I will bring a float from home (a cheapie from Wal Mart that I can toss without any regret before we head back home!) and I am going to try those toddler life jackets. Thank you everyone for helping me out with this! :thumbsup2
