FLL to Miami

I need transportation from a FLL hotel to port of Miami. I have reviewed several options and I am wondering if I do a shared ride shuttle how long do the pick ups take. I don't really want to spend a large amount of time going from hotel to hotel before going to port. Would it be better to just go to airport for the shuttle. Or should I go with a private shuttle?

We are leaving from Port Everglades in January and I just booked through www.fortlauderdaleairportshuttle.com. They had great reviews. For 4 of us it was $56 including tip to get from FLL to Port Everglades in a private van one way. IDK what the rates are to Miami but they were great about answering questions. I spent a long time searching and contacting various places. I know people say taxi is cheap, but I don't want to have to mess with getting a taxi on return from cruise.
