Good morning! I'm new here and so sorry if this has been talked about already - I couldn't find anything. It looks like we're going to have to fly into Fort Lauderdale for a cruise going out of Miami. I've never been to Miami and have no idea where anything is. We're planning on flying in the day before and renting a car to get to Miami, but not sure the best way to get back (or if renting a car in FLL is even the best way to get to Miami). Any suggestions on what's the best option? Is the worth the hassle of renting another car? Are Uber/Lyft easy to get at the port? Thanks in advance!

I would check with the hotel you are booking in. Sometimes they offer transportation from FLL to hotel then hotel to port.
Worth checking.

FLL to MIA is about an hour to hour and half drive depending on traffic. If you can travel mid-day mornings and evening are a nightmare in Miami as far as traffic.
Are you driving right to Miami when you land or staying in a Ft Lauderdale hotel?
I would check uber and see if its cheaper than a taxi/car service.

We used Jiffy Jeff, because we had six people and didn’t want to deal with trying to find an Uber/Lyft that could get us and our luggage in one car. They got from FLL to our hotel, and then from the hotel to the port, and then from the port back to FLL no problem. Drivers were friendly (the one taking us to our hotel suggested a few places to grab dinner close by), the van was clean, and while we had to wait some, it wasn’t any longer than waiting for an Uber/Lyft to show up. Not sure how comparable the price was, but it seemed reasonable.

I'm hoping to get a flight that lands sometime between 11am and noon, so hopefully would avoid any really bad traffic. We haven't decided if we're staying an extra day on the back end - I guess it would come down to flight availability, but if we do fly back the same day, shooting for a flight that leaves around 1. I checked the pricing on a Lyft and it would be about $80, which I'm guessing is cheaper than or comparable to a cab. Just don't want to be hanging around the port all morning waiting for a ride.

I've never heard of Jiffy Jeff, but I'll definitely look into it! I'm willing to pay a little more (within reasonable range) for something that's reliable. The FLL airport site recommends Go Airport shuttle but the reviews are awful.

I will second the recommendation for Jiffy Jeff. We stayed at a FLL airport Marriott hotel and Jiffy Jeff was easy and reasonably priced. We got to the Miami Port right at opening. We would definitely use them again.

We used Jiffy Jeff last year for our cruise.. we arrived in FLL .. and needed to get to a hotel in Miami.. they were awesome., the communications was great., and on time. no issues, plan on using them again next time we are there.
