Okay...silly question... We are leaving on Saturday for our trip (YIPPEEE) and I'm in the process of secretly packing (the trip is a surprise for our kids.) when we went to Disney a few years ago I ended up wearing flip flops the whole time. Is Universal flip-flop friendly(lol), or should I plan on wearing shoes with backs? Are there any rides that I will have to take them off? Thanks so much for your help!!

That's all my wife wears when we are there but on certain rides you will have to take them off but you can put them in the seat and sit on them or at least that's what she does

I only ever tennis shoes to Disney or Universal. Universal has more thrill rides at IOA so you may want to wear something with a back so you don't lose them.

I've worn flip flops exclusively the last two weeks including US, seaworld and Legoland.

i've worn running shoes for long days in the park and my tevas when it looks like rain.

no problem with either one.

i do see many with flip flops or sandels in the park.

All I ever wear down there are flip flops. I just sit on them if my feet will be dangling.

You`ll be fine with flip flops :thumbsup2

I wore my Croc Patricias nearly every day last year at Universal and when I went on rides like Duelling Dragons where my feet were dangling, I just sat on them like others have said.

On Dr Doom, I left them on the ground after I sat in the seat, that was fine too with the ride operators.

Have a great trip :thumbsup2

Another flip flop wearer. I sat on them during the Harry Potter ride and Dr. Doom has a spot for them before you take off. I had no problems.

However one afternoon when it rained one of the bridges was really slippery. I don't know if people with sneakers had any issues but I almost slipped a couple of times.

:thumbsup2Universal is VERY Flip Flop Friendly! :goodvibes

I wear flip flops almost exclusively. I only wear another type of shoe occasionally to let my feet burn up in something different for a while. :)

a little late with this....but I wear only flip flops as well, especially with the water rides. I never enjoyed the feeling of wet shoes and socks. we just take our flops off and hold them on certain rides

We are a sport sandal people. They are the ones with a sneaker bottom and straps so they stay on. They are great for all rides and give you support.
