Help. Why are my magic your way 6 day hopper tickets so flimsy. I expected something like a credit card not a small piece of flimsy paper. How does it work anyway? Do I have to carry this paper card for the whole week in my sweaty pocket? It won't last. Somebody help me?

I haven't seen the new tickets but they sound as if they are similar to Annual Passes. Our APs last through several trips per year...once I believe our middle son used his for 40 days. Don't worry...it will be fine and take up less room than a plastic card.

A few times one has becomed demagnetized but they just reissue a new one.

I haven't seen the new tickets, but I always, always, always take plastic baggies with me. My tickets get their very own baggie. That way they don't get wet and have less chance of getting bent up. Plus it keeps them separate from your credit/debit cards, which have a sneaky way of demagnetizing them. I also put the baggie in the DIS water wallet, which has sturdy sides. So far, I haven't had any problems with the old PHP that we used to get. They were pretty flimsy too!!!!

P.S. the snack size baggies are my favorite for tickets (they just the right size!)

Never thought about using the snack size baggie in that way b4. Thanks for the idea!!

I also wonder why Disney doesn't offer a more substantial type of material for their AP's. They should be more like a room key material, not the paper that they are made out of.

I've had AP's since 1998 and never had to replace one because of wear, I used each about 20 days a year. They are stronger than you think. If by chance they do wear out, you can have it replaced for free.

You can get the more sturdy ones if you get the key to the world option. Of course, if you have already purchased the passes, you cannot get the key to the world option. These are given to you upon check-in.

Can they really get demagnetized from your CC/Debit cards? :confused3

I don't know about the AP cards getting demagnetized, but I can attest that it happened to my BP card. Now, I keep it in a seperate area of my wallet.
Funny, it has not happened to any other of my cards, just the BP card.

They can be demagnetized. I have a friend whose card kept erasing. She didn't keep it near her credit cards. She finally discovered that it was the magnetic clasp on her purse.

We were at WDW last week. I ordered our Magic Your Way tickets on the disneyworld website and picked them up at Guest Services at the Boardwalk Inn. Our tickets were plastic (like a credit card). Had a picture of Tinkerbell on them.

I used my AP 86 times in 10 months and the AP looked as good as new when it expired.

I received all 5 of our MYW 5-day (with park hop added) tickets in the mail the other day & they are all of the credit card type.

What we always did with the more flimsy paper-like tix when we bought them from AAA is to photo copy each side and keep it in our suitcase in case one got lost, soggy, or torn. That way they can look up your ticket # at Guest Services and cancel it if it has been stolen and reissue you a ticket with you unused days...same with a ripped or soggy one!

Do these tickets arrive seperate from your hotel confirmation package? I ask, because I have recieved confirmation in the mail of my CBR reservation, but no park tickets or anything like that were enclosed. We ordered a MYW package online.

I believe if you have a package reservation you get the tickets when you check-in. If you buy separate, they send them to you in the mail (if there is enough time).

They won't tear, but you should try to keep them dry b/c if they are wet they will become floppy and not work in the turnstiles and the FP machines. (If they do get wet you'll need to dry them out under something flat to retain their shape so that they will work again.)

Just another tip:

I was going to order my 10 day ticket online but just casually asked the rep on the phone if I could order the 10 day ticket through her and she said sure she could just make sure the hotel has it when I check in and I asked if it would be paper, she said no that she would have them put it all on my room key I got the 10 day park hopper with plus and no expiration

I, also, ordered a myw ticket thru disney website and it was plastic like a credit card. I ordered 2 10 day park hoppers, 1 child, 1 adult.
