So I'm checking out flights on the sites that have the multi city option and expedia have come up this, it's for Sept, and we are going sept/ Oct so I'd have to wait a bit til those days become available and maybe the prices will be the same. (fingers crossed!!) otherwise we'll be going in Sept! :)

Canberra-Brisbane-LA then
LA-Honolulu-Sydney-Canberra

$1604pp traveling V & Delta(LA to Honolulu)

Only catch is we have to stay overnight in Sydney on the way home, but that would cost a LOT less than getting a flight that connects that night. Would it be a huge hassle?

I think this is pretty good, what are the airlines like though, never flown either.

hey

have flown both delta and v australia.....both great airlines....if flying economy, try economy extra with delta, only a few extra bucks but heaps more leg room...

dont forget to join delta skymiles and v aust velocity frequent flyer program...

staying in sydney would be fine, check wotif or last minute for the mystery hotels....

Sounds like a pretty reasonable price to me. We wanted to come home from the USA via hawaii earlier this year and it worked out to be well over $2,000 return.

I think the Honolulu - Sydney leg will be with Hawaiian Airlines as they codeshare with V. I haven't flown V personally but a lot on the boards have and I haven't heard a bad thing about them yet. Hawaiian's planes are a little on the old side and they don't have the personal entertainment, so make sure you take a good book, or just try to sleep.

Enjoy the planning!

Hawaiian wouldn't bother me, I have flown them before when I went to Hawaii in 2006, I have an iPad too :D that would help with the girls.....now to just wait and see if we can get the dates we want at those prices.

I've just had a look for the lights we want to do, I've never tried Expedia or flights but the prices look good - have told my husband to find out once and for all if his mum wants to join us on the trip too so I can book soon!
