Flights of Wonder - Great Horned Owl - Disney's Animal Kingdom - WDW - Florida

Yes! I love this show (especially when the funny guy is playing the tour guide).
The owl is absolutely gorgeous up close, he's part of a little talk that they give outside the FOW theater before the show starts.

The owl was really pretty. The birds in the show are very impressive and gorgeous as well :)

This is a must do every trip for my DH and I. The birds are fantastic and the rats are hysterical! :rotfl:

:thumbsup2 DS loved this so much we went twice--but we only got the funny guy once, and the show was sooo much better when he played the tour guide! (but still totally worthwhile even without him)

They do the show without the "tour guide"?

Still a tour guide, but there's a female and it's just not the same when she does it.

We always go to the show and love it. And it just depends on the day but there is a male and female "Tour Guide".

Terrific show! We saw it twice on our last visit. DBF and I love owls. One of the performances got cancelled early because of a huge storm coming through :(

There are at least three that we've seen, two guys and the girl. From the videos Ii've seen there may be more. The one guy everyone is mentioning plays the tour guide, Guano Joe, and has been there since the beginning. He has a fabulous comic touch and really does make the show much better than the others we've seen.

i like the hawk personally. when we saw the show i was they guy that holds a dollar up and the hawk flys out and takes it:woohoo:

If you go and want to participate, have a dollar bill ready to show when they ask!:goodvibes

Actually it is not a hawk, it is a Raven. Hawks have talons and you must wear gloves to have one land on your hand or a really thick jacket if it lands on your arm. Raven have claws and they can be dulled down so they don't hurt whomever they land on.

The rats are hysterical. I have seen that exact same skit at another zoo somewhere else in the country, but I can't remember where. Might have been Hoggle Zoo in Salt Lake City.

We love this show. THis year I'm going to try to be one of the lucky ones who gets to sit on stage and get pictures of the in-coming raptors.

One of our favorites - a couple of years ago my daughter got to do the math part with the bird and I got to photograph the in-coming owl. It was awesome. You need a fast shutter though. I was able to get it with my DSLR bit the other woman I was with did not get it with her digital camera. It is an amazing photo- one of my favorites ever.

Even more fun - have a $20 ready - the host gets to re-think the punchline on the fly that way.

It helps to sit a bit left of the center of the theater, I think, to get chosen for this one. For some reason, they seem to choose that side more often than someone on the right side.

Does the bird still come out at the end and they say it's a baby? I think his name was Elvis. Because they've been saying that bird is a baby for years, and I think it's the same bird...
