Flights from Toronto to Orlando

I am booked for November at WL and have starting looking into flights. Seems to run about $500 per person from Toronto to Orlando. Does that seem about right? Are there usually cheaper prices if I wait longer to book? This is my first trip to Orlando in about 15 years and just trying to get a sense of prices for flights before I book

We live only 20 minutes from Pearson airport but we are now only flying from Buffalo. I am an OVER planner when it comes to holidays so believe me when I say that I have thoroughly researched all flight options. There are dozens of possible flights from BUF where as only a few, if money is a factor, from YYZ. If you want to consider BUF I would suggest that you go directly to the airline websites, don't use Expedia or Travelocity, etc. they charge you a fee. Southwest airlines is great from BUF as they have approx. 6 flights daily 2 of which are direct non-stop. They are currently only booking until Oct.28 but they should be opening up more dates soon. Another good carrier is Air Tran Airways they also have good rates. Both SWA and ATA have sales all the time.

If you really want to fly from YYZ $500 if it includes all taxes is really not that bad. Check the charters--Skyservice, Airtransat, Westjet and Canjet(flys from Hamilton to MCO via Ottawa). I think you might be able to find slightly lower prices, but it might not be worth the stress of the "wait and see" game.

Another little timbit for you---the taxes from YYZ are approx. $120 per ticket ---$30 from BUF.

Our last two trips [2001 and 2002 ~ when the exchange rate was 50% ~ yikes!] airfare cost about $400.00 per person all-inclusive. One was Air Canada, the other was Air Transat. Both times were in April. We live 20 minutes from the airport and I don't mind Pearson at all. Chat soon! S

I am flying out of Buffalo tomorrow with SWA for $150 USD return...That is for both of us. Yes $75 each return...I will never fly out of Toronto again if at all possible.

We flew to Orlando in May. Using Skyservice, with fees, it worked out to $450 per person. That is quite a bit of money if you have a family of 4. We are going back in Sept. This time I booked a flight out of Buffalo on USAirways and the total for 4 came to $622 US$. That is less than half of what the cheapest rate ($1800CAD$) out of TO is.

I paid $2400 for 5 of us on Delta a few years ago. Since then I fly out of Buffalo. Last time with Southwest my total for 5 was $1002 CDN.

I'm not saying that there is anything bad about YYZ. In fact, if it was even close in price to the prices out of BUF then I'd use it. For us it is totally a financial thing. We would never be able to travel if we had to fork out say $2000 just for airfare.

I have a friend that is a DVC in TO and he swears by Buffalo! Also, I think Jet Blue flies out of there and they are a great airline.
