I am playing with airlines and times, etc... just wondering what a good rate might be for that time...

I can get 550ish for Frontier, 600 - 700 for Air Canada, United, Continental, etc...

Are these good rates? Anyone ever flown on Frontier?

Thanks in advance

we flew last august with frontier YYC to MCO for 4 of us 1300 and some change. Make sure your flight contains only the one stop over in colorado cause we did the 2 stop over flight and it sucked! however the one stop over on the way home was lovely.

Frontier staff were all sweet and curteous, treated our girls extra special with it being their first ever airplane ride too! we will likely fly with them again in 2009! we found that Air can and Westjet to have shorter flight times but we weren't willing to sacrifice extra spending money for that extra hour.

Have a good time and a happy flight!

We are the opposite now. If we cannot fly direct out of Calgary we don't go. With three kids and the time difference it makes for way to long of a day for us! We cleared customs in Calgary, checked our bags with ME and relaxed. We bought at AKV recently and will now be renting a car at MCO to get around. You might also want to try Westjet with a connection of course as you cannot fly direct to MCO from Calgary in the summer. You might find some seat sales after Easter week.

What are your exact dates. I was playing around with flights for August the other day and had $373 each including taxes with NWA. Let me know and I can look for you too.

Thanks everyone!

We wont do more then one stop over. I actually don't mind the stop.. it lets us all get out and stretch our legs, find food, etc.

Are there actually direct flights to MCO from Calgary?

The West Jet flights all leave at midnight or close to it.. I don't want to arrive tired, so those won't do it for me...I just returned from Hawaii on a night flight - which I don't mind on the way home, but not on the way there..

We are flying on the 6th of Aug and returning after noon on the 21 ( has to be later since we will be getting off a cruise).

At this point Frontier is way out ahead in times, and prices....

There are plenty of direct flights to Orlando from Calgary during the winter season. That is why we do not take advantage of free dining. The flights from Calgary are really yucky in the off season plus the humidity would kill me in the summer lol!

we really thought the humidity would be horrible in august too. the first day was the worst. however we adjusted really well to the heat (so did the kids 3&6 at the time)

No direct flights from calgary in the summer that's the worst part, however the one stop over would've worked great for us. two was way too much up and down and even though we didn't transfer flights in memphis we had to land and take off again ha ha

plus we were all really anxious to get there. our first big family vacation was fantastic though and I wouldn't really change anything except the flight!

I don't think any of the airlines run direct flights in August. You will either have to connect in YYZ with a Canadian airline or a hub in the states with a U.S. airline. Personally, if you are not tied to your dates of flying down (I'm guessing you are visiting Orlando before your cruise) I would do the parks after the cruise as they will be significantly slower at the end of Aug vs. the beginning. Also, you might have a chance of catching the start of free dining if you go after your cruise.

I am a teacher, so do have some specific time I have to return to Calgary. I also have booked a castle view room at the Poly from the 6-16.. I suppose that could change. We want to do the cruise after to relax. 10 days of doing the parks will be busy and exciting, etc. Once we get on the boat and the kids are in the kids program we can take some breathing time before we go back to work...
