Hi,

I am trying to search for flights for this xmas and new year (looking at going 20th Dec and back first week for Jan 05), and most of the online pages don't have flights for then, it is too far in advance! so when is the best time to start looking?

We might go with friends this Sept, but they have not comitted and I am the type of person that likes to have it all booked asap, if they decide they don't want to go, we are thinking of spending xmas and new year in Orlando, as quite fancy doing something different for xmas.

Is Orlando/Disney magical at xmas, we have to kids, Amy will be 4 when we plan to go and Joshua will be 21 months.

Thanks for your advise.

Nathalie

Hi Nathalie,

Scheduled flights are released 11 months prior, you could try someone like USAirtours or Bon Voyage to get a pricing estimate - they'll also normally let you reserve them and book them for you as soon as they're released as long as they're not more money than they've quoted - we've done this before :)

YOU COULD CHECK PRICES WITH VIRGIN HOLIDAYS BY GOING INTO THE FLYDRIVE SECTION ENTERING YOUR DETAILS JUST DON'T TAKE THE CAR OPTION OR INSURANCE:confused:

I'VE JUST DONE THIS TOO BOOK OUR FLIGHTS FOR NOVEMBER 04 FLYING PREMIUM ECONOMY AND THIS WORKED OUT CHEAPER THAN DOING IT DIRECT WITH VIRGIN ATLANTIC, ALSO HAD QUOTE FROM BON-VOYAGE WHO WERE ABOUT £100 MORE.

Hi Nathilie,
We have booked a Virgin Flydrive for December 04 and have had to fly into Miami because there was no availabilty into Orlando. Not sure if they release any more seats at a later date.
Christmas is a lovely time to visit Florida and the decorations are amazing, however it does get EXTREMELY busy and the weather can be very changeable. We just back from 10 nights in Orlando and the weather was in the 80's nearly every day but they were forecasting it to drop to the high 60's just after we left.
Hope this helps.

Mick.

Hi there
We took our two at the same age and they both had a wondeful time. Disney is really geared up for children. We took our fold up buggy for the younger one and rented a Disney buggy for the older as they are really sturdy. One of the most important things is to not try and fit it all into one day - take the afternoon off to go to a waterpark or Disney village or , if you stay at Beach/Yacht Club you can use their pool which is fantastic - sand, a big slide and whirlpools etc. You can then go to Epcot (a 5 min walk) or Magic Kingdom in the evening to see everything lit up and the fireworks.
Brings back very good memories!

Carol
