Just wondering if anyone got better than $575 pp by waiting to book later in the fall for a March break getaway? It's cheaper from Portland with Airtran however trying to avoid driving the extra distance. Any suggestions?

I've traveled out of New England many times. I have always flown out of Portland, Manchester or Boston. I've not seen a fare in BGR that wasn't beat out by Portland (by a large margin). What dates are you flying on!

I'm having a heck of a time trying to find flights.

We're flexible as to where we fly out of, Halifax, Bangor, Portland, Boston, Manchester but not very flexible when as we're cruising March 10th out of MIA. We were hoping to fly into FLL or MIA March 9th and figured BOS would be our best bet however prices are crazy!! After the cruise we're staying 9 days in Orlando and have found a sweet flight with Delta MCO to BOS, even AC has a decent return flight back to Halifax...I just can't find a flight to get us there!! lol

We are flying anywhere from March 1 to March 8, flexible on days right up to March 4 to March 11th. 7 nights stay.

Try them, I believe theres a link on the airlines tab of the Bangor airport, They do however fly into Sanford not Orlando, Ive never flown them personally but some ppl on the boards here have and they got good reviews. Its at least worth taking a look at

Yes I have checked out Allegiant Air from Bangor and they only have flights posted up to January 15 2013 right now, not sure when March will be available. Definitely, they have good rates however I'm not sure how we would get to Orlando from Sanford without having to rent a car or paying a phenomenal price in taxi.

I've found flights out of Halifax to Orlando direct flights with Airtransat for $1855 tax included for the 3 of us. I'm wondering if I would be making a mistake to book this flight and find out I could of got a lower rate? Can anyone recommend?

I don't know if Portland is too far a drive for you but we are booking Portland to MCO on JetBlue and the total is 1200 for the 3 of us. Mind you, these are early flights as we like to have some wiggle room if a flight is late.

Thanks! I checked Jetblue from Portland and I played around with the dates so If I leave on a Monday instead of my planned Friday, I can't get the flights for 1167$. Sweet!!

Has anyone ever booked their entire vacation package with Jetblue? Just wondering what your experience was like?

I've flown Jetblue out of PWM and it was great, but I've never book their packages

We always fly from Portland because we don't find the flights in Bangor worth it. I don't really recommend Allegiant because of a few reasons. First if you are staying onsite you cannot take advantage of DME so you would need to rent a car. Allegiant has also changed its fees and it charges some pretty hefty ones for carry on luggage. Sanford airport is also a longer drive each way as opposed to Orlando International so that balances a portion of the Portland drive. It's only a little over an hour of an extra drive to Portland which I find worth it and have never minded. Plus I take advantage and shop at the Maine Mall there.

Allegiant just opened up fares to April 16, 2013 today. Don't really see any deals at this point but maybe in the next few days. Flew with them during March break 2011 and got 4 tickets from Youngstown, OH to St.Petes Clearwater airport for $496 inc taxes.

For all of our trips to Orlando we have always flown from Bangor. The most we ever paid was $1600. This price is for 4 people, during March break. I think the lowest price we ever had was around $1200. Hope this helps.

I just priced March Break and it works out to $387 return (including $18 for carry on and taxes)....is this a good price??? Is there anything else a person should consider when booking Allegiant...we know it would be into Sanford and that's not a problem for us?

Check their baggage fees. I had a friend about to book but then she found out that they charge aroun $35 per piece of carry on plus your fee for checked luggage.
