Ok - now we finally know what dates we want to do the Xmas trip on, I have to get flights.

Seriously - does it have to be THIS hard to get decent prices?

You work your dates out based upon SkyScanner giving you 'Live' price info - then when you try to book it, the actual Airline sites give you massively inflated prices for the Times you had specified.

OR... prices are available when needing 3 tickets, but when I add the grandparents in who want to come along this year, those prices aren't available. Which puts me in the position of booking 3 then 2 tickets seperately, hoping that I can GET the other 2 after the first booking goes in.

This is taking All the fun out of this holiday already...

where do you live, which airport(s) are local, which airports would you be prepared to travel to? my local airport's flights to CDG are rubbish times and overpriced now, so I drive an extra hour to get cheap, convenient, and frequent Easyjet flights to CDG.

or, could you phone the airline and book on the phone?

We're doing Manchester airport, tried liverpool but selection very limited there.

Ideally we want to travel out early sunday, back late wednesday.

We got decent prices for similar times for our summer holiday, but while all the Flight Checker sites are saying we Should get the same again, actual carrier sites give totally different figures, very frustrating.

Will phone prices be any different to the websites?

I was thinking that by phoning the flight company you could book all 5 flights together?

Disaster. I always book waaaay out so I have my choice of flights on the cheap.
Maybe give a ring, there has to be some way around it as its still months off
Try edreams?

Well, finally got flights that suited us, though stung to have to pay £142 each. (costing as much as the actual holiday!)

I'm curious as to how other people go about booking, as we had to wait for winter dates to be released, then price up, decide a date, then look for flights, we really couldnt book much earlier.

Does anyone here book flights before disney dates are released based upon knowledge of cheaper times to go in previous years?

I ask as I've decided that if we are going back next summer we should work out dates now, and book flights as soon as they are available!

I use Easyjet and go to DLP out of high season, so I know my flights (based on experience) won't vary by much (ie usually less than £50 return each). So I usually book my DLP accommodation first, then wait for an Easyjet sale (ie every couple of months ;)) to book my flights.

The easy jet liverpool flights seems to be all 6pm ish I think? Doesn't seem a good use of the day when staying onsite? I think best I'll ever be able to hope for is £97 each if I can get flyby ones early enough!

hmmm - how much would the Easyjet 6pm flights cost you compared to flybe? I've used a late afternoon flight before, stayed offsite very cheaply at val d'europe that night, then transferred to my onsite hotel in time for EMH the next morning :). Might be worth doing that if the Easyjet flights are a lot cheaper than flybe.

I never thought of that! Booked the flights now unforunately, but I suspect that would be a good way to do it, and a lot cheaper! Damn... :)

Filing that away for use next year...

Well, I caved to the guidance here!

Air france have very kindly agreed to refund my booked flights, so I now have the chance to do the later Saturday travelling, stay in Val d'europe, get to Disney early Sunday, and save money to boot! (though I do get to wait nervously for the refund...)

I never realised how much extra stuff there would be to learn when we've been once already...!

Hi new to this site !I live in durham and the easyjet flights from newcastle land about 9.30 pm no good at all you spend all day just waiting to go I find this very stressful then there the over priced taxi when you get off at CDG.Now I get the train down to london (train tickets bought 12 weeks in advance)and stay in the travelodge (hopefully bought in the sale)the get the eurostar tha leaves at 9.30 am and takes you straight to the gates and if you get the disney express you just take your bags upstairs and disney take them to your hotel for you.I did this in january with my twins that where 2 at the time. I find this a lot less stressful and a lot cheaper if you are on a budget.Eurostar prices aren't bad and you only have to pay for children over 4 not 2 on flights hope this helps someone x

Well done Jakaru. :woohoo:
Im pretty lucky with Aer Lingus and Ryanair both doing flights to France at 6am-ish and return ones at about 10pm-ish. We are 2 hours from Dublin so we travel up the night before to stay in the Travlodge.

I would toy with different times and maybe even look at the Eurostar for your Summer trip.
I rather book DLP 1st and then the flights. Think the flights can be booked 330 days in advance (I rather book then as Aer Lingus rarely out do these 1st prices) Ryanair do though but we rather fly to CDG now instead of BVA anyway.
