I've had a quote from skydeals for a flydrive , next august staying for 3 weeks, flying with virgin. i have been phoning other companies as well to see how much their virgin flights are but on some i have been told that skydeals must be basing it on this years prices as next years prices arent out yet.
is this right, has anyone else booked virgin flights outside the 11 month frame?
thanks

Don't know if it's much help but I just tried searching on Skdeals for a flight next August (Gatwick to Orlando) and it kept coming back and saying there were no flights available. Did you get the quote over the phone? It definitely isn't working trying to do it online :confused3

Not sure how they did this for you due to the 11 month rule. The told me to contact them in November for next October.

I booked a Virgin flight through Jetsave for next May over a year in advance. There are a few travel agents who you can book a flydrive through, including Virgin Holidays nut they were dearer for my dates. The 11 month rule applies to booking directly with Virgin Atlantic I think :confused3

(1st post Yay!!!!)

Jeanette we have booked Virgin flights before the 11 month window. We did this with Bon Voyage. I think they called it pre registering!! They took our details and rang us when the flights became available to book. BV were the cheapest that we could find at the time.

There may also be some confusion between fly-drives and flight only prices.

Flights usually can't be booked more than 11 months ahead, but flydrives can :)

Yes, but the flight part of the package is not confirmed until eg. 360 days out with BA - you can't book yourself allocated seats etc until the flight schedules have been released. But as with BA, they have the same flight every day to Tampa, BA2167 I think - so you kind of know the times beforehand.

It's a cunning way of getting your dates if they are popular and you normally go flight only. We have done this year for our wedding next Nov to ensure we get the PE seats we wanted - we have taken the cheapest hotel and just won't use it. It meant we could book our flights as early as June 2005 for Nov 2006 - although we don't have times and can't book seats yet.

Hi
i have rang virgin, got the number from their brochure, and they gave me a quote as well, so they must actually do the flydrives outside the 11 months.
with skydeals a 4 door intermediate, 1 driver full insurance, alamo, is costing £129 per week which i thought was a good deal. for £139 a week it is for 2 drivers and a free tank of gas and full insurances.
skydeals have gave me the best price . i have phoned nearly every company on teletext 222 and 237  so i will be booking with them :teeth:
my phone bills going to be sky high!!

Joesam welcome to the dis! :wave2:
