When I booked our flight, we were booked on a 757...with Usairways. My question is when I checked the itenary page, it says the plane is a 737. BUT when I go through the reservation process(I was checkin to see what the price is now) it says the plane is a 734. Why the discrepency?

I am not concerned about having any particular plane, but am wondering why it is showing 2 differant things.

Any ideas??

Also, is there a web site to view how ful the plane is and to see a picture of the plane?

Thank you in advance for any help,

melissa

USAir frequently changes the type of plane, as well as times. I have reservations for May and our flight down was switched from an A319 to 737 and our trip home was switched from a 737 to a A321. They moved us from row 9 to row 16 on the flight home. Times are within 10 minutes of the orignal.

I always look at seat charts on American Express Travel. You can create a reservation without logging in, on the last screen there is a spot to choose seats so you can see the chart. Then hit cancel.

It is possible that when you booked the reservation the plane being used on that flight segment was a 757. Now when you check the intinerary it shows a 737. They may have substituted at 737 on the route. When the airlines use 734 it is basically airline speak for a 737-400 which is just a different series of 737. I.E. 734 = 737-400, 738 = 737-800

And there is no availability on our return flight. It is an 8:30 flight from MCo to Pit. Does that mean we could get end up getting bumped? There are 4 of us in our family, and 4 in our friends family......hummm.......Now I gotta figure out this whole bump thing....LOL...when does it end?

The fact that is shows no availabilty really means nothing to you since you are already booked. It probably means the flight is sold out. As to being bumped, unless it is overbooked you should have no worries. They ask for volunteers first, and generally there are many who will raise their hands.
The website should show the aircraft, it is usually under "about US Airways"on the top of the opening page. They are all fine aircraft.
Why worry about this, you cannot do anything about what plane they fly? You are stressing out over something you absolutely cannot control.

We are flying USAIR in July from Syracus to Orlando thru Pittsburgh. They have changed our plane from a 737 to DH Dash 8 witch is turboprop. USAIR as part of their restructering is changing the planes on verious routes. They told me this a cost saving mesure.
