For those of you who have ridden Flight of the Hippogriff in its old incarnation as the Unicorn, would you say the coaster is more like Disney's Big Thunder Mountain Rail Road or Goofy's Barnstormer?

My fingers are crossed for BTMRR. It's my kids' favorite ride in all of Disney--not too scary but just thrilling enough.

Thanks in advance!

I haven't been on Goofy's Barnstormer but have been on Big Thunder Mountain and its' nothing like it. So I'll take a guess and say that its closer to a goofy coaster..Its a very short ride and not really worth going on..in my opinion..But I'll go on it just b/c I want to see Hagrid's hut and the que area..

Its nothing like BTMRR....I have not been on Barnstormer but if its a small little weak coaster then its exactly like that. Its like the Woody Woodpecker ride if you have seen/been on that.

Happen to agree with your kids that BTMRR is a great coaster and I like all kinds of coasters but that was just awesome and a lot better then I thought it would be. Would be lovely if Universal had a mirror to it.

Aw drat. Oh well. Of course we'll still go on it though. I can't wait to see Hagrid's Hut in person. The pics look great!

Thanks everyone!

It's a tad bigger than Barnstormer and would still be considered a kiddie coaster versus the bigger BTMRR mine train coaster.I still used to ride Fliying Unicorn.

Definitely like the Barnstormer. It's a kiddie coaster, perfect for a young child's first coaster experience!

I think it's a lot of fun and pretty intense for a kiddie coaster. Woody Woodpecker's NutHouse Coaster at the Studios is more like the Barnstormer than The Flying Unicorn was.

So maybe it lies somewhere between Barnstormer and BTMRR? I can't wait! I'm way too chicken for Dragon Challenge but I'm definitely going on FJ even if I die from fright (more likely I'll die of excitement!)--but maybe FofH will be fun too. I know the queue will be cool, but I was hoping the ride wouldn't be a letdown afterward.

You'll be fine on it...I think it's better than Barmstormer mainly because of the speed of the Hippograff. I don't think Forbidden Journey is going to let anyone down.

No where close to BTMRR. Definitely closer to Goofy's roller coaster. It's fun but there really aren't any thrills or length to it! My 3 year old likes it but she REALLY likes BTMRR.
