Flight of Hippogriff?

Thanks Damo. I think this is a ride my DD8 will really like. She is not a big coaster type rider. She loved Goofy's Barnstormer. This ride is somewhat like that (not theming, I know), but the gist of it? Is it the same?

And is FOTL worth if for this ride mid-day? Will there still be long waits even in the FOTL lines? We are going in 10 days for Spring Break and it will be packed. Just trying to plan my HP time.

It's very similar to the Barnstormer. I personally liked it better as the Barnstormer was known to make me a bit queasy and FOTH didn't. We were there in Aug. and never had to wait with FOTL. (Regular line ranged from 10 min. to 40 when we were riding it.) I would think the FOTL would be a life saver during Spring Break.

We'll be there in a week and my DD is already counting the times she'll it with the FOTL :lmao:

They are the exact same type of coasters. Both are Vekoma Jr. Coasters, Barnstormer is the 207m model, Hippogriff is the 335m model so it's basically just a longer version Barnstormer.

My 6 year old did it 14 times in a row, so there's a baseline for her. :)

When we did it, the line was tiny (very early in the morning in December literally 35 degrees out), BUT the normal line was just a touch longer, and it ended up being worth it to use FOTL, even when it just meant a minute difference.

And to finish the story of our day...after starting the day with those 14 times, and a bunch of stuff in the middle, he finished the day with 15 times in a row on Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse Coaster...:headache:

And just so you know, if she's over 48" tall, she can ride those thing alone...I learned that by the time we got to Nuthouse, but didn't realize it for Hippogriff!

FOTL (Front of the Line) is the incorrect DIS meaning of unlimited Express which is available for onsite guests and VIP Express ticket buyers only.

Interestingly enough, they still use the term at Universal Hollywood.

When I was there, it was before any such perk so I missed it. I just don't want a newbie to go the parks and ask a TM where the "FOTL" line is instead of the Express line.

bumbershoot - wow! 14 times.....my DD rode it 5 times when we were there in 2008 but that was because she wasn't tall enough to ride DD but now that she is tall enough, she still says that she wants to ride it as many times as last time because now it's themed after one of her favorite creatures in the HP books. :rotfl2:

Oh I agree, I avoid the term as well since you aren't actually going to the front of any lines.
