Flight help please!

When is the best time (is that an oxymoron??) to look for/purchase flights? I am looking for airfare for 2 from BOS to MIA or FLL. Looking to leave later in the evening on Nov 9, return Nov 14th (later morning), or leave Nov 10th first thing in the morning to be in MIA/FLL by 1pmish, and return Nov 14th (late morning). I dont have much flexibility beyond that time frame.

I've heard that one of the best times to check for airfare deals is late Wednesday nights. Not sure if it's true. I always check southwest.com for cheap fares. I also live close to BOS, but also check the airfares out of Manchester (MHT) as sometimes they are cheaper there.

Don't just limit yourself to using Logan to fly out of Boston, sometimes it is well worth the time to go to providence and fly out of there.

I like the idea of a search and compare site...BookingBuddy also will do that. You can put in your information and they will email you with price changes as well. Not sure how long you want to wait to purchase tickets. I found Continental for 186 round trip, plus taxes and any baggage fees.

I would be buying these tickets as soon as possible. Prices will go up closer to your travel date.

NJMOM, where did you find that price?? The lowest I find on Continental is 403/RT.

Your dates are not particularly sought after. Buying early will give you better selection of flight times but will not on average give a lower fare.

I ended up buying airfare earlier this evening and paid $465 for 2 tickets and I couldnt be happier!! (1 stop, decent connections)...
