I have a business trip coming up with a long flight, and I need something REALLY good to watch or read on the plane and in the hotel. I hate flying, and this will be about 7 hours on a plane, so I need something truly gripping that's going to make me forget my misery :D

Taking all suggestions, but bonus points if it's Disney. I have a toddler so I've already watched all of Bluey. :D

If you have Disney+, download whatever you want to your device. On my last long flight, I downloaded Hamilton, Luca, Encanto, and a few others. I also downloaded "Under the Banner of Heaven" on Hulu and binge watched the entire series.

Just make sure you download whatever you want to watch because wifi doesn't always work on planes.

I like to download an audiobook. I listen while playing games on my phone - double distraction. I will also bring a physical copy of the same book so I can switch between them depending on what I want to be doing.

I like to make sure I have several books downloaded on my Kindle. I go through Amazon before long flights, read reviews and recommendations based on other books I've purchased. I usually look for the free or cheap downloads, but I don't mind paying more when I need a really good book for a flight. When we flew across the country last year, the Internet on the plane was fortunately very good. I was able to access Hulu and Netflix on my laptop and watch whatever I wanted. I was also able to log into my home cable account and watch recordings on my DVR. I saved a week's worth of General Hospital to keep myself occupied.

I was on a short flight (just under 2 hours) last month on Delta. They had TVs with free access that included movies, a collection of older shows and a few live channels. After I got tired of CNN, I watched a couple episodes of Friends. If my flight has a seatback TV, I can usually find something to pass the time.

Do you buy DVDs with a "Movies Anywhere" digital copy? If so, once you obtain your digital copy, you can download the movies to a digital device and watch the movies on your flight.

Also, if you have library card, chances are you can borrow books, movies, music, audio books, etc via Hoopla. Again, just download them to your digital device. Books are usually good for 2 weeks. Movies are usually good for 3 days.

If you like Jane Austin I've been enjoying Sanditon. Not sure if it's available offline though.

Comedy;
New Girl on Netflix. It was on for 7 seasons and it's phenomenal if you haven't seen it.

Science;
One Strange Rock on D+.

Podcasts;
Comedy;
How Did This Get Made? Is really funny. They watch usually old, always not very good movies then provide commentary. I would not pay for any of the movies, but you can usually find several that are free or free with subscriptions. Check the podcast to see what movies they have, done, then get the "Just Watch" app to find some you can watch for free. You are looking at about 3 hours of content between the movie and the podcast, per movie.

True Crime;
A really fantastic, relevant right now podcast is "In Your Own Backyard". Cal Poly Freshman Kristin Smart disappeared on her way home from a party. The case got largely forgotten until Chris Lambert took it upon himself to investigate. The guy is a hero as far as I am concerned - the murder trial began TODAY, thanks to him alone. The story alone is worth listening to, but Chris did such a phenomenal job producing it. Every single episode gave me chills, and it's all true.
