Flight deals from Boston/Manch NH in January? HELP*

Hi there,

My younger sister will be starting college this fall at Eastern Florida State College and we plan to visit Disney World and Universal when I visit her in January.

I'm in Grad School but will be on winter break from Dec 13th-Jan 13th. I was wondering when the best time to find flight deals from either Manchester, NH airport or Boston Logan Airport would be. Ideally I'd like to go in January after the Christmas/New years crowds go home.. That's generally when my family goes and we love that time of year. She'll be able to pick me up from the airport.

Should I be using Orbitz? What do you folks recommend? What is the cheapest flights usually run from the Northeast to Orlando? I see some on Orbitz for this month and October for $240 which isn't too bad. My hope is to pay under $300.

You should book this directly on your airline's website. Legacy airlines released fares for January 2015 months ago; check them out.

Go to the Southwest website and price out fares. They fly from both Manchester and Boston- also Portland, ME, if that's closer. Manchester and boston usually have pretty similar prices. You can take 2 checked bags for free on Southwest, as well as a carry-on and a personal item. Most public schools in MA, NH, and ME will be back in session by January 5th so you might be able to snag some decent fares. Also, if you aren't parking a car at the airport and can get a ride from wherever, you can fly TO florida from whichever is cheaper (MHT or BOS) and then fly home from Florida to whichever destination is cheaper; you don't have to fly from/to the same airport.

Actually, you are in luck as Southwest hasn't opened its schedule past 1/4/15 (I just checked the website). I don't know when they will open the booking window, but post around; someone will know. Also, if you don't care which days or times you fly, you can use their low-cost search engine to find the lowest fares for your time period. We saved over $100 a ticket just by flying on thursday night instead of Friday morning!

We're flying from Providence to MCO in 2 weeks and found it was cheaper than Logan. We're on Southwest too, they were a few hundred less than JetBlue.
