Help...I know its not the end of the world but I am super bugged. We bought our flights months ago with Delta. I always book a later flight out so we can have "one more day" at a park. Delta just emailed us last night that our 7pm return flight is now 3:30pm that cuts out a huge chunk of the day...We had planned a Crystal Palace breakfast and a few hours at MK. Now I'm not so sure its worth it. We are at AKL so now I'm think last day at AK...now there are no PPO breakfasts...help me figure out what to do...I'm so conflicted on last day plans now. Also do you think there is any chance if I call Delta they would find a later flight ? I looked but they are all 3x one way of what we paid so I doubt they would offer those.

Day 1-Resort Day coming from Universal after 3 days there
Day 2-MK
Day 3-Ak
Day 4-Resort Day/Night kids to Pixar Club while we have a date night
Day 5-Epcot
Day 6-HS
Day 7 ????????

Kids are 9 and 5 and while they would enjoy a character breakfast they are not dying to see any characters either.

Are you renting a car or are you relying on Magic Express to get back to the airport? If you have a car, I would probably just keep your MK plan but finish up by 12:30 and head directly from there to the airport.

Was planning Magical Express but we would be open to a Lyft or Uber.

You have the right to a refund (even on a nonrefundable ticket) when they change your flight that much. If they can't reschedule it better, you could see if another airline has a better flight & get a refund from Delta.

I’ve had that happen with Delta using miles and they moved me to new flights with no charge even though they were more miles. Take a look at their schedule online to see if they have something you want before you call.

Happened to us to this upcoming July! We'll have to call as well. I hope they can change it for you.

As others have said, Delta will offer a free change when flight times change by 1 hr or more. Delta is forever changing my flights on me (I think my December flights changed 5x in 4 months!). But they are always willing to change me to a new one (sometimes even to a different airport nearby even though that's not guaranteed). I've had lots of success with their Twitter customer support in these situations. Tweeting can be a lot easier than calling!

As others have already said, contact Delta and they will work it out for you. They did that to me a few years ago so I tweeted them and within 10 minutes had new flights that fit closer to my original schedule.

Call now. The longer you wait the less likely seats on a flight that will work will be available.

Accommodating changes when THEY change flights is something airlines DO. No crossed fingers needed. Find two or so flights that work better and call. Now.

This!
Also just wanted to add, I believe they can also accommodate you on partner airlines.

Back before Frontier became low-cost airline, we were booked on them Seattle-Philly after our Alaskan cruise. They changed our flight time from around 1pm (which was perfect) to 6am which would be impossible since we can't even debark the ship that early.
Since I did search other flights/airlines before calling, I knew the one I had my eye on with United and just planned to get a refund and buy the United ticket separately. It would have cost us another $500+ for the 4 of us. I called them so ready for a fight and they were so sweet and helpful. Frontier asked me which flight I wanted and I was so surprised that they could just move us to that flight.
A couple months later I noticed USAirways had added a non stop flight that was perfect for us but definitely wasn't there when I first started shopping for flights. Sure enough, United changed our connection time and added another 90 mins between flights making our arrival in Philly super late and with the next day being the first day of school I called Frontier again and they moved us to the USAirways flight. We arrived at 7pm instead of 11+ pm.
It really helps to keep paying attention to schedules.

Good luck!!

I feel your pain,we have had a lot of issues with airlines for this upcoming trip, from flights being canceled all together to changes making connecting flights impossible. we booked our initial flights 6 months out.

I love when they change my flight time because I can pick whatever I want. We got a much better itinerary to Hawaii this summer. It gets a little trickier if you are wanting non-stop since there may not be a new flight to pick. I will connect if that means not ending my vacation 8 hours earlier than planned.

One of my best friends works for DL reservations. She says it is at the discretion of the reservationist, but she will change flights almost always, even if it the flight only changed by 15 minutes. The only time she said she wouldn't was when the original flight changed by 2 minutes.

Yes - call. Pick which flight you want to be on and tell them. With a change of that many hours, they will move you to another flight.
Yes, this. We've done this many times. If Delta doesn't have a flight you want (look ahead of time) and you're willing to pay whatever difference may be on a different airline (again, look ahead of time), request a full refund and just book with an airline that works for you. There's no way I'd just let an airline shorten my vacation.

We were able to reschedule for a different more expensive flight at no extra charge when they rescheduled our flight a few years ago. I just called and told them that the new time would not work for us. She said what flight do you want and voila, we got it.

This!! Call and ask/demand a different flight. Also, be prepared with what flights will work for you going forward. I had a delta flight that was non-stop and they changed me to a one flight stop... I called all fired up but never had to get nasty as they readily agreed to put me on a different non-stop flight. :rolleyes1 It definitely is the pits when you have flight changes/delays on your disney trips as we all are trying to maximize our time there. Good luck and let us know what happens.
