Flight cancelled! Need pixie dust!

Rough start today. We arrived at the airport, checked in, got to the gate and the flight was cancelled because the flight attendants called in sick! We are on a later flight but now that one is scheduled to be later than it should-won't be getting in until around 8:00. I just hope we get out today! Need pixie dust to be able to ring in the New Year with Mickey!

OMG! Good luck to you. The "joys" of flying! I hope the rest of your trip is much better. Last trip, my flight was greatly delayed, missed my connection, got in very late. However, the rest of my trip was so great that I forgot about the rough start once I got there-hopefully this happens to you, too.

Missing a flight to see Mickey and Crew has to be tough.

I travel a bunch and that, I have to admit, is the first time I ever heard of sick flight attendants causing a flight to be cancelled. Do you mind telling us which airline?

I'm going to guess United and Ohare!!
(howdy neighbor, we used to go to the Lutheran Church in Lindenhurst)

I know we were on United, bad storms had us waiting in KY or KS for hours, we finally got into ORD around 4am - but could ORD accomadate us? NO - we had to wait another TWO hours for someone to push the button to attatch the walkway to the plane!

I've read this is not an unusual problem when we hear of delays -
