Hi, Was wondering if anyone has ever stayed at WDW on Airline discount? Just wondering what resort you stayed at, amount of discount (%), and variety of choices you were offered or requested.
thanks :surfweb:

You close can generally get 50% or close to it. You will not be able to combine this with other discount offers. You will have to fax them proof of employment and IATA eligibility. Availability only gets limited as your travel dates near.

We got 50%. The first time we booked it was only 6 weeks prior to travel. It was limited but we manage to split the reservation to 3 day and a 9 day and did not have to change rooms. This time there was plenty of availability in all resorts.

Good Luck...

Thank you for the quick reply, this is the best place to get a question answered quickly. Is it possible to book two rooms at a Moderate with the discount? We are also thinking about staying in a Deluxe, but then we would have four adults in the room. So many decisions......:rotfl:

As you can see from my ticker I am planning on going in Fall, we booked with a 40% postcard code. Just found out about a wedding that three of us are planning on attending. I really don't plan WDW vacations more than 2-3 months in advance, go figure that I would this year, and now there is a wedding that same weekend. I don't think I can totally change the reservation since I had to book by 3/15. One of the women we are travelling with is an airline employee, so maybe we can still work something out.

Yes...as long as you overlap each other by atleast one day....we have booked 2 rooms at the discounted rate.

Just a reminder that the IATA discount does NOT allow you to also book and pay for the dining plan.

The Disney Dining Plan is not available under the IATA discount structure.

Yeah, I got a great rate for Sept. $181 a night for the POLY. It would have been much cheaper to do a mod. or value. As little as $360 for the week in a value. Good Luck!

Also, we recently booked the CR Nov. 29 for three nights at only $498 total. :) I always book early and never have any trouble.

I was told the person on the IATA card must be in the room. That would mean only one, yet some have said they have gotten two rooms..Anyone?

I appreciate everyone's replies, and it is sure nice to hear the great room rate. Obviously we would consider one room at a deluxe if we can't have 2 moderate rooms. I know there is a 25$ pp charge for adults in the room above 2, do they discount this too?:goodvibes
We really don't do the dining plan, tried it once when free dining was offered in 2005, while we loved it we really do not eat that quantity of food while we are there. More CS, maybe character breakfast and/or Kona breakfast for us. So not having that as an option is fine.
Keep posting your rates, I love to see what everyone was offered or requested. Since there are four of us I am thinking WL and AKL rooms are small. Leaning toward a MK resort, but CR is not high on list.

The 2 rooms that we have booked are linked booking there will be 2 adults and 2 children in each room.

You can get two rooms, no problem. I just changed our last night and moved my parents over to the POLY, same rate. You should see if it is available for your rates. They have some of the largest deluxe rooms, and it's super close to the TTC.

I also was able to get a $181 /nt rate at the Poly in August. Does anyone know if IATA discounts are limited to one trip per year? I'm having no luck finding any availability for the past few days online - no matter what dates I plug into their TA site. I'm curious if it's b/c I already have ressies for 2 nts at the Poly and can't book any additional trips this year.

Thanks!

Dancemom- thanks for the detailed response! Boy, I was beginning to think it was just me Disney was locking out! I didn't want to call and get in the crosshairs (I'm in travel sales but don't book travel myself, so I was trying to lay low on the radar with my IATA discount.)

Bummer to have a glitch right now b/c I hoped to take the kids for a spur of the moment trip to Disney next week while work has a lull... Guess I'll be checking frequently too. Did the CM sound like he'd heard about this from other TAs? At least hopefully it's on someone's to-do list to get the glitch fixed.

The idea of a glitch causing it was our assumption. He hadn't heard of anyone having problems with it when i called.
Are you airline or a travel partner? If so, I thought could still book by phone.
I do wish they'd have left the old booking engine in place. It was so much easier to call and ask what was coming up at a given code rather than having to enter each and every resort only to still find nothing there.

:sad2:

Sorry, I didn't notice that before. You know that you have to book 6 days out right? If you can't get rates to come up right now, I'd cover my bases and book an AP as a backup. There are APs out there right now for next week... Better something than nothing.

Anyone else want to post rates or resorts you have stayed at with the discount? Still deciding on what we will be doing in October. Hopefully we will be able to have our choice of availability but would love to hear first hand reports.

Boy do I miss my airline discount - up until last year I worked for an airline and considered the 50% off Disney rooms one of the best perks next to flying for free!!

We always got exactly 50% off RAC...we've used the discount at POR, WL, BC and several times at the Poly. This year is our first trip without the discount but I was lucky enough to get the 40% off postcard and now we are able to try the dining plan. That was the only bad thing for us - the dining plan is perfect for our family but we weren't able to add it to the 50% off - so I'm excited to finally get to use it!

Good luck with whatever you decide - I would definitely call ASAP - we always booked many months in advance as the rooms really are limited at the travel industry rate...have fun! :)

I didn't realize the villas were included in our discounts. I called today and for Sept. they had the BWV available at $220 a nt. (1 bdrm) I thought that was a pretty good deal, has anybody tried the dvc's?
