Our flight gets in pretty late - 9:35. We plan to use Magical Express. Should we plan to collect our luggage and take it to the bus with us? If we don't what time will it arrive at the resort? 2 hours later? 3?
Thanks!!!

I would plan on collecting it and putting on the bus with you. I have read where people have gotten their luggage as late as midnight.

If your flight is on time or is delayed but gets in before 10:00 p.m., you do have the option of having DME transport your bags or getting them yourselves. If the flight winds up arriving after 10:00 p.m. you will have to get them yourselves as the DME luggage transfer service stops at 10:00 p.m.

If you use the DME luggage transfer service, you can expect that they will get to your room within three hours of resort check in. Since DME can take up to 90 minutes to get you to your resort, that means the luggage could be getting to your room as late as 2:00 a.m. If you are at one of the value resorts, that may mean it won't get to you until morning.

You are advised to pack whatever you need for the first 12-24 hours in your carry-on bags regardless of whether you use the luggage transfer service or not. That way you won't be left high and dry if the airline loses, misdirects or delays your bags somewhere along the way. If you do that and use the DME luggage transfer service, then it's not an issue for the bags to get there in the morning and you can have them held and not delivered in the wee hours if you don't want to be awakened.

If you want to get your bags yourselves, just leave off the DME luggage tags and head to baggage claim before you go to the DME Welcome Center. Depending on what airline you are coming in on that can require a fair amount of schlepping around with bags, but you will have them as soon as you get off of the bus at the resort.

Thanks. My Mom and I were talking about our options and from the info above I think we will plan to get our luggage and bring it to the bus. We won't have that much and I would like to use the bit of time before bed to organize me and the kids a bit. I am sad not to use the delivery service as it sounds like it would be nice but maybe next trip.

My DH got in at 8:30 PM. By 11:30 PM, he still hadn't gotten his luggage. He said he wanted it once it arrived at the Poly. (This was a choice that the Poly gave him.) He fell off to sleep in his clothes after 1 AM. Found out they decided to hold his luggage for him until the morning. :confused3

The 3 hour delivery window starts after you check in to your resort, not from when your airplane lands. Did your husband's plane land at 8:30 or did he check in at that time? It makes a difference.

I have had my luggage delivered to me as late as midnight, when we landed at around 8pm. I fell asleep in my clothes then too! But now I know to pack my pjs in my carryon if I take a late night flight to WDW. Then I am free to hang my do not disturb sign on the door, and go to bed. A quick call the next morning and they bring my luggage to me.

I used the delivery service last time I was at POP. I landed around 8:30. I got 1 bag at midnight and the other some time after 1 am.

MCO has pretty decent baggage services. i have never had to wait long at the belt (unlike in NYC, LAS or SJU). I would get the bags and have them taken on the bus, unless there are a ton of them

We get in at 8:30...and while I've went back and forth on what we should do...I have decided to pick up our luggage! It will only be one bag...and I'd just feel better about having it with me!
