Flex Tickets

Sorry if this is the incorrect forum, but it has to do with other Orlando attractions, so I thought it fit.

My question is, I want to buy the flex tickets for a trip in late July early August, so we can go to every park. When I look at UCT there is a disclaimer on the ticket:

The date of first use for the Orlando FlexTicket 2013 must be on or before Dec. 31, 2013. It is not valid for use if activated after that date. To receive the full fourteen (14) consecutive calendar days of admission, the ticket must be used by the first use date printed on the ticket. The ticket will expire in full on the expiration date printed on ticket. Unused days shall be forfeited.

How can the first use be on or before Dec. 31st? If I buy these now will they work in July/August? Should I just buy direct from Universal? Ticket sales are final, and these will cost me upwards of $1700, so I don't want to make a mistake. Thanks in advance for any info one of you experienced Orlando travelers can provide.

Essentially, the tickets are only good for 2013. If you buy them now, and are planning to visit *this* summer, they will be good.

We got these last summer; they are a good deal. Remember that you only have to pay for parking once per day, so save your parking receipt each day---you can even e.g. visit Universal in the morning and Aquatica in the afternoon.

If a flexpass was activated, say, 23 December 2013, would it stay active for 2 weeks, or stop after 31 Dec 2013? My wife is concerned, but I assume they're good for 2 weeks as long as the first activation day falls in 2013.

I believe that you are correct as long as you activate it in 2013 it is valid for the 14 days
