Flex Points Guilt!

I had 31 flex points left as of this morning and my bank resets on Thursday. I went to a mexican food lunch with my friend and had my favorite, an enchilada with rice and beans. I came home and added up my totals and I had used 14 of my flex points. I feel so GUILTY about it, like I shouldn't have done it and I just blew my week, even though I know that is what they are there for!

Anyone else ever have flex point guilt when using a big chunk like that?
 
I think it is natural to have that feeling, but you have to remember that is what the flex word is all about. You had been saving those points and chose to use them on a meal that you enjoyed and I have to say it had my mouth watering this morning.
 
Good for you!!! So many times I go to a restaraunt and "wing it" and don't even bother counting my points. I just rationalize well I had flex pts so that will use them up Realistically I probably do that and eat MORE than I would if I'd just plan and count them and be OK with it.

I think you are very very smart to use your flex pts like that. Not eating your flex pts can cause your metabolism to slow down. You just reminded your body that there is no need to go into starvation-metabolism, plenty of food available. Back into weight loss mode you go!

Nope ... no guilt here :teeth: You have to remember that your target is lower than what your 'old range' would have been. Molli is right ... your body needs for you to be eating your points. And I think sometimes saving them up and using a bunch all at once gives your metabolism a little "shake up" that it needs every once in a while. I know that I try to vary my points throughout the week 'cause I don't want my body to get used to only getting the equiv of 22 points a day, every day ;)

Glad you enjoyed your meal out. I think that is what is so great about this plan. The trick is making it work for your own personal lifestyle, and you're doing an awesome job at that.
