BBB:
I had a colonoscopy a few months ago and I did the Fleets Phospho-soda. Soda huh? Not quite. LOL
But it did the job well and while it does indeed clean you out, I had absolutely no stomach cramps in the process. I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome and believe me, I know what stomach/intestinal cramps are like.
The Phospho-soda IS a very small amount of liquid, and I was told I could mix it with clear juices to help with the taste. In all honesty, it was pretty gross, not so much the taste as the weird sensation I felt on my tongue and in my mouth. But once that was over, it was fine. You're allowed to drink as much clear liquids as you want, up till the morning of the procedure. Be sure your DH follows the directions EXACTLY, as prescribed by his doctor. A friend of mine works at a center where they do these procedures all the time and many times the patient is not properly "cleaned out" due to not following the directions exactly.
Like Dan said, this was not bad in the least. The worst part is choking down the Phospho-soda. It was painless and over pretty quickly, and you are sedated. I dozed, but I was nosey and watching the procedure on the screen in the room there, so I stayed away through a lot of it, asking questions. lol But many people have said they slept through the entire thing. Once it was over, I felt 100% fine

I would not hesitate to have this procedure done in the future, if needed.
Good luck to your DH!
