We are considering booking Flamingo Crossings and wondering the pros/cons of Home2 Suites versus the Homewood Suites. Thanks so much! :)

Homewood Suites is attached to the parking deck while Home2 is a bit farther away which could make someone feel uneasy walking at night. If you don’t get back early every night you will end up in the parking deck as the surface lots fill up quickly. They both share the same pool area.

We have stayed at both. For our stay at Homewood we had a king suite and it was on the floor with entrance from the parking deck at the top. It was nice to drive up there every night and catch a glimpse of fireworks in the distance! There were only a few other cars on that level and it was very convenient to walk from our car into the hotel and not have to walk through the lobby, etc. at the end of a long day. We also thought the breakfast was much quieter and relaxed because Homewood seemed to cater more to adult groups.
When we stayed at Home2Suites it just felt a bit more relaxed and fun, maybe because of the family atmosphere and the Mickey waffles! We also had a queen suite that had TONS of storage for clothes, etc. We are going there for a two week stay and looking forward to having all the space to spread out!
We are a retired couple in our 60s and really enjoy this resort! We rent a car because we enjoy being able to go out of the bubble if we need to. This area is still a work in progress with new restaurants and shops opening but there is a cute little Target that has all you need to stock your room.

I think we stated at Home2 suites, but they are both great options from what I saw. We have also stayed at most of the Marriott properties over that way. I think the only one we have not tried is the Fairfield, but it too gets rave reviews. The Hilton room was big and very clean.

The 2 Hilton owned hotels are the only ones- I think- that have a water slide on the pool. It is a somewhat basic water slide, but still a very clean pool. not quite as exciting as some of the WDW pools, but a fraction of the price!

All the hotels over that way are quite new, and all have been super clean. Of them, Residence Inn was our least favorite, but even that one was really nice.

The dining is mostly quick serve, and mostly chains, but there are many good choices. Food costs less and better quality than comparable WDW options. If Lime happens to open by the time of your stay, well we really liked another Lime location we visited. We are hoping it opens soon!

There is also a Walgreens and the Target. Simply comparing prices, that Target tends to be slightly higher prices than elsewhere, but we still like it. It is super clean, and the compact size is great if you just need a few groceries. It is set up to cater to tourist needs, so it is easy to find everything, and they stock lots of great options. You can also place an order online and have it ready for quick pick up.

The area looks like a generic shopping plaza, in that sense it is not very exciting, but we still like it.
