I recently heard that the Animal Kingdom's Flametree BBQ was now open "seasonally." Is there any way of finding out what dates this includes? We're going to the AK on December 10. What are the chances of it being open? :confused3

We usually go in "off season" and it's always been open for us. We like to eat outdoors so we follow the little path that winds down behind to the pavillion over the water.

We went at that time last year and it was open. Very good BBQ.

I sure hope its not gone seasonal - there are too few places to eat in AK as it is!

We have never ordered anything from Flame Tree. Why? I don't know? But I will have to say, it is the best smelling place to eat of all the "World" I hope the "Q" taste as good as it smells.

We have been in October and November, and it has been open both times. We are looking forward to having lunch there in January- hope it's open then!!

I don't think there is anyway possible that the Flame Tree would be seasonal. There is not enough places to eat in AK as it is. It gets my mouth watering just thinking about the Barbecue Beef Sandwich, and Onion Rings from Flame Tree.

I love the FlameTree. I like to pretend I am eating the animals that are "just not up to Disney Standards" ;)

Where'd you hear? I think that someone must have been mistaken.

I don't know where you heard this but I believe this is old info. Years ago - after 9/11 and slower times, some restaurants went to "open seasonally" and the Flametree was one of them. They should be on normal operating hours now.

we've eaten there March, Nov & Dec '05 as well as this past Jan. '06

Believe travelin' tigger :tigger: is correct :thumbsup2

Was open in late August. Food is O.K. (more than decent but not what I'd describe as great). However, it's worth a visit if only to enjoy this view of Expedition Everest (this shot was taken from Flametree lower pavillion waterfront seating area):
