I haven't been inspired or irritated enough to write a review in a while , but Flame Tree got me today.

The corn on the cob is gone, the cornbread muffin is gone and you can only get coleslaw with the sandwich if you ask specifically when you order. Of course the prices are the same if not more than when those items were standard.

As to the meal itself - the pork was dry and flavorless, the baked beans were not cooked well and it was overall barely mediocre. My husband said the ribs were't bad - he's gone to post his pic of it in a minute.

The real issue above and beyond that was the freakin birds. They are always a pain and annoyance here because people refuse to obey the clearly posted sign that says NOT to feed them, but today a duck actually BIT me. He waddled up and bit my hip then sat there looking at me like he was ready for a treat. NOT OKAY.

I've always enjoyed Flame Tree and put up with the birds, but given the decline in food and quality, I think I'm done. I particularly refuse to eat there until they get the bird situation under control. Very disappointed - basically a ruined meal as we spent over half the time running ducks and birds off and trying to reassure our son he was safe.

Oh, no! I have always loved their food. The birds have never really bothered us, but I have seen a lot of little ones scared of them. Maybe the changes won't last!

Honestly, I thought the ribs were the same as they've been for the past 10 years, not great but pretty good enough for a theme park. They were the same as last summer, except they cost $2.50 more and didn't have a corn bread.

My beans weren't cooked though so I didn't eat them. Maybe if we were there at supper instead of lunch the beans would have had time to cook.

Oh, yeah, the ribs don't have the membrane cut off the back. If I was smoking ribs I'd cut of the membrane, but to each his own.

We tried Flame Tree BBQ for the first time last year and the food was fantastic but the birds.. Ugh.. The birds. Let me start off by saying I am terrified of birds. I love to look at them but if they get close, I tend to freak out a bit. While we were there last year we had to keep shooing the birds away and I'm not talking about the ducks. Some of the birds were getting pretty nasty with us, too. This did not lead to a relaxing lunch we were hoping for. I'd love to return to this CS, but would only do so if they either had a covered area or if I could bring the food to another CS. I don't understand why it is so hard to get people NOT to feed the birds when there are signs right there!

This is disappointing! Flame Tree is my favorite counter service @ Animal Kingdom. I hope they get their act together before our trip in October. I could definitely live without the birds, though. They're annoying, and I think birds are gross...I really don't want them that close to my food. :crazy2:

We always eat at Flame Tree. I never cared for the corn anyway, but the corn muffin I miss! We've never been particularly bothered by birds of any kind while eating there. We must have just been lucky I guess, or they've gotten worse since December. We'll be checking it out in September, though. Thanks for the heads up.

I ate there last year for the first time. I could do without it. The food was mediocre at best. Ribs were over done and beans were cold. I was not impressed with it.
