Last year we used our counter service meal and went to Flame Tree for the first time. We really liked it, except that it was hot and you had to eat outside. For our trip in June now, we're deciding between FTBBQ and Yak and Yetti. Which one is better?

Yak & Yeti is a sit down and counter service restaurant. If you have your heart set on eating in the dining room, I'd make your ADR as soon as you can. I tried for our April trip and they booked up pretty quickly. Since it is a new restaurant, everyone wants to try it and see what all the hype is about. We may have to settle on the counter service for our upcoming trip.

In case you were interested, the Yak & Yeti menu link is below:

I'm not sure what will be offered at the counter.

We're trying to decide between the same two CS restaurants. I'm interested in opinions on this too.

I haven't eaten at the counter at Y&Y, but I did eat inside. The CS menu looked very limited.

We've decided that in the future, we'll stick with Flame Tree.

We're just back a couple of weeks and tried Yak & Yeti's CS.

Good value, interesting containers, large outdoor seating area. Portions large enough to share (we used 2 CS for 3 of us). All that said, food was reminiscent of our local Chinese.Just..okay. IF we hit AK on our next trip, I think we will go back to Flame Tree.

But - if you haven't tried Y & Y - do so...

We haven't tried the Yak and Yeti yet, we usually dine at the FTBBQ, just watch those trees above the tables. Seems like for the last few years there was a resident bird of the larger variety who like to drop his "presents":scared1: from the sky!

Flame Tree BBQ food is great and we walk down to seating area by water and it is less crowded and cooler.:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes Danny

After eating at Flame Tree on every trip, we decided to try Yak & Yeti counter service in January. We really enjoyed it. Food is lighter. DH and I prefer to having lighter meals and Flame Tree BBQ, while decent, is a pretty heavy meal. We had Chinese Chicken Salads at Yak and will probably eat there from now often.

I really like Flame Tree Barbecue - we've eaten there about 5 times. I love the ribs there. We tend to go in February or October - not when it's too hot.

We have the same issue FTB or Y&Y? We know we love FTB, but want to try something new.. How did you find a counter service menu? I can only find the table servic on allears?

Be advised - Yak & Yeti counter service (actual name: Anandupur Local Food Cafes -if you look under that you might find the menu) is outdoor seating only. If you sit indoors, it's table service.

The food I had was nothing you can't get in a mall food court Chinese place.
