Flame Tree BBQ or Tusker House?

We liked both places but Tusker won out by a hair, mostly because of the a/c. It also has a great bakery toward the front.

Did I not read where they were going to change it to a TS restaurant though? I know they are putting in a new TS in the Asia area too.

Slightly Goofy

Out of all the good food I had on my March trip, the only thing I've craved and can't wait to eat again on my June trip, is Tusker House.

Their Rosemary Rotisserie Chicken is to die for and if you time your meal when the African band is performing, you can't go wrong!

Flame Tree is okay too, but I can eat bbq anywhere. Flame Tree is pretty outside and the food is good, but my vote is for Tusker House. :thumbsup2

There are (were, I hope?) rumors to turn it into a character buffet. :sad2:

We tried both; Tusker House has a/c but it can get crowded which we didn't like. My son and I shared the Rotisserie chicken and thought it was bland. Funny such a different review of the same menu item!

We had the BBW sandwich at Flame Tree which we enjoyed and really liked the seating area near the water! No inside seating (or a/c) but very peaceful. Perhaps I was enchanted because we were there in July during 90+ humidity and didn't feel it.

My family and I ate at both Tusker House & Flame Tree in February and have to vote Tusker House all the way. The food was awesome. It is a top choice for my CS Dining options. :thumbsup2

On the other hand, Flame Tree was horrible. The buns were dry, as were the corn on the cob we had, and the fries were soggy

I hope this helps.

This is easy, both. Yeah Tusker House has AC but so what. We were there Labor Day week '06 but Flame Tree wasn't hot. Sit by the water and it was comfortable. Tusker HOuse was crowded but you had the "show" outside. We will eat at both 9'07 even if we only go to AK one day.
