Flame Tree BBQ or Tusker House?

I haven't been to Flame Tree, but I liked Tusker House. I had the corn chowder wuth turkey wrap and DH had the chicken sandwich. His was great. I liked he chowder, but the wrap had mint that I didn't like.

I haven't tried Flame Tree but I have heard really good things about it. Tusker House is one of my favorite places in WDW including TS restaurants. The chicken and salmon are excellent. One thing to consider is Flame Tree does not have indoor seating and it can be hot in September. But I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

Tough choice!

I used to always go to Flame Tree. After reading this board, I decided to try Tusker House. I loved it. I got the chicken, potatoes and veggies. It was very good.

Flame Tree has good BBQ and has a nice seating area outside on the patio. Last time we were there, there was a mommy duck and her babies on the patio. My little one was so taken with them.

Tusker House is inside if you need to take a break for a while.

I enjoy Tusker House and have never eaten at Flame Tree. However, last trip (NOV06) my youngest DS and his girlfriend stopped at Flame Tree for the BBQ and he hasn't topped talking about it since. He's raved about it so much that my older DS (who is going down in DEC07) has this definitely planned for this trip.

We haven't tried Flame Tree either. But Tusker House is probably the best dining bargain at WDW. The salmon meal, for example, is excellent; in fact, it is consistently good from year to year. To be sure, Tusker House is a rather simple stand-in-line, cafeteria-style eatery, but its salmon dish is even better than Citrico's (at least according to our most recent trip of a week ago).

[We anticipated the usual Tusker House lines when we walked in at the start of the afternoon parade and we were the only ones in there!]

All the best!

We loved Flame Tree BBQ but it is outside (albeit in shaded areas) so if you're going in the sumer, maybe leave it. Tusker House is supposed to be excellent as well.

Flame tree was not good the day we tried it. Maybe just a bad day. We have eaten at Tusker house several times and love this place. Very good.

Another vote for Tusker House. Everyone has their own opinion on barbecue. My opinion is that Flame Tree is not a good option for those who like barbecue. :confused3

Have eaten at FT @8 times. :thumbsup2 Last was 8/06. Man was it hot out. Makes me lose my appetite. This Aug we will try TH for the salmon and a/c.

Tusker House any day over Flame Tree! We tried the Flame Tree on our last trip and the beans were dried out, barbeque not at all as good as what I was expecting, and we were surrounded by attack ducks while fighting for a seat outside.

Cut to this last trip (just got back!) and we gave Tusker House a try...it was by far the BEST CS meal we had during the whole 9 days we were there! DH had the salmon and said it was wonderful. I had the chicken and it, too, was wonderful. We found a nice table inside fairly easilly (there are lots of tables spread out and a few kinda secluded rooms) and found it a comfortable, clean, cool place to relax and feel as if we were out of the crowds of the week before Easter!

We loved the Flame Tree Rest. the portions were HUGE and it all tasted great. If its' nice outside, walk all the way down past the first few eating areas, all the way down to the waterfront and get a great view of the Asian area of AK (nice photo-op of Exp. Everest!)

Our kids like feeding the ducks pieces of bread from our meal. We actually took our time with this meal, rather than wolfing it down and exploring more of the park because it was such a nice locale and the kids were having so much fun.

...and those MinuteMaid Frozen Lemonade Desserts hit the spot!

I have been back and forth trying to decide between the two as well. Who knows maybe we will try both in July.:goodvibes

Yum, we really like both, but I think Flame Tree beats out Tusker House for us! :)

I haven't been to Flame Tree but the chicken sandwich and wraps are awesome at Tusker House. We don't like Flame Tree b/c it's outside and I don't like the bugs eating my food.

Another vote for Tusker House. I think it is one of the best CS meals. The food was amazing. Another sell for us was that there was air conditioning. The heat at AK was awful that day and eating inside was definitely a bonus.
