Just got done reading a review on DFB for Flame tree. OK if understand correctly you can purchase the 1/2 slab ribs, chicken, pulled pork combo with 1qs entitlement. Then instead of the desert you can now substitute that for a snack credit. So I could sub for the pulled pork cheese fries?
Combo- 19.99
Fries. 6.29
Drink. 2.99
So I could basically feed at least 3 people a $30 qs meal for 1 qs entitlement? Or am I misunderstanding

Nope you are correct, that is a QS entititlement. But feeding three from it is down to how you eat. I could eat the combo no trouble, although adding the pulled pork fries might be too much.

It is unlikely, but possible I am not sure, that the cheese fries could be subbed. What can be is limited and not everything.
If you are all light eaters you could do what you suggest. It wouldn't work for us.

They are listed as a snack credit, so under the "rules", I would think they would allow the substitution *at this time*. Now, how long FT will list them as a snack credit, remains to be seen....especially if lots of people begin doing this swap.

Normally a QS entitlement is the entrée, a side, drink and dessert. With the Ribs, Chicken and Pulled pork sampler (19.99), I don't think this comes with a side. As far as subbing in the pulled pork cheese fries instead of dessert..... if they are on the DDP snack credit entitlements maybe, what we have found is these thing are not consistent through out the parks. So maybe, but ask. If not you could up just use a snack credit for the fries. DH and I split the Ribs and Chicken combo and order a extra drink and it was quite a bit of food, more than we could eat for lunch.

The Fries are a snack credit.

The rules of the dining plan state you can switch a dessert for any snack https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/m...alog/WaltDisneyWorld/en_us/PDF/2016Dining.pdf

So it is possible under the rules to get the $19.99 combo with the $6.49 fries and the $3.99 mandarin lemonade

You can also sub the drink for a side or dessert.

I see you listed the lower soda price, don't forget with the dining plan you can order the large drink (which is $3.29) as part of your QS entitlement. We will share meals sometimes and getting the large drink is nice because we will share that.

I had been eyeing getting the fries w/ the pork/cheese as my "dessert" too when I go in September, so I'll be anxious to hear if anyone is able to do it. As others have said the rules state you can swap out the dessert or drink for any snack item and that has a snack icon, so I can't see why you couldn't.

I saw pictures of the $19.99 combo recently and it didn't look like a half slab of ribs. It looked more like a quarter. I'm not sure it's really enough for 3 people all 3 are light eaters and maybe one is a child. 2 for sure but 3 might be pushing it.

Yeah, it's not a half slab. My son and I split the "1/2 rack"/chicken combo last year, and I think there were like 4 ribs on the platter. Hardly a 1/2 rack, but on a hot day, it was as much as I wanted.

The portions are generous, but even if you can sub the fires, and I am not sure this substitution is allowed, you will not have enough for three people.

We often will share one CS meal between two of us, or will order two meals between thee. WE have enough but are not "full". I don't like the feeling. But one meal between three people? I could not imagine it being anywhere near enough.

Here is a pic of the menu. They are not even pretending it is a half slab, it looks like a quarter when you compare it to the half/full slab. Both of the combos have smaller portions shown and they do not specifically say what the sizes are, unlike the rib only and chicken only meals.

the sub is allowed as it is a snack credit. I was on a fb group where people posted their real time food pics. I left because they had a lot of weird rules and it was annoying me, lol. But not that long ago someone posted that they had subbed the cheese fries. I think either of the combos with the cheese fries is good for a big eater (the portions are not so ridiculously outrageous that no one could possibly finish them themselves), two people who have average appetites and might even be enough to share with a kiddo as well if say both adults are fairly light eaters and kiddo eats like a bird. 3 adults of average appetite? the equivalent of one rib, 1/3 of a quarter chicken and a few bites of pulled pork would not fill me up even with 1/3 of an order of fries and I think my appetite is fairly average... when I go to buffets I seem to be on the lighter end of the spectrum lol.

I am planning to split this meal with my 8 year old son, should be just about right. He does not eat as much as an adult but nearly and has a decent appetite for things he likes... and he likes bbq and cheese fries.

I subbed the onion rings for dessert on the DP last Fall so I don't see why not. ps this made a huge meal for one when combined with the ribs. Would easily feed 2 adults.

We were looking at doing something similar, and splitting the meal at Flame Tree BBQ too. I am a light eater, so I am sure even splitting this would be more than enough food for us.

Sorry for nit-picking, but this is how misinformation gets passed on...QS entitlement does NOT include a side. It only includes the entree. If the entree happens to be a combo, then you get the combo, but if it isn't, you do NOT get a side. The sampler is a combo and does come with beans, slaw and cornbread. The watermelon salad on the menu is not a combo and you would not get a side if you decided to order it.

Thanks y'all. There is 2 of us actually not 3. Probably will end up splitting this considering its a great deal and I dont eat real heavy. Especially in the September heat.
